Case Study : lot of likes/share/reactions on my Facebook ad but no sales!

Hello,

I use Facebook ad to sell swear word coloring book. In France ( I am french) I use Facebook to sell. It works great. (exemple post for France )

In France people react and a part of them buy the book

We have launched the book in the United States, I know :this kind of book already exists in this country. So mine is bigger and more pro than others. We created a ad on facebook that worked wonders (lots of people like comment and say they'll buy it)

But no one buys it.

Where is the problem ?
Is it simply the Americans who are very enthusiastic (but do not give a damn about it)
What is your opinion ?

Add a big CTA button above the fold. The CTA button required me to scroll down or click on the buy button to transport there.

You can try re-targeting those users. Yes it can be seen that you ad did performed very good all you need is to convert those cold audience to hot audience. Use funnel marketing for that purpose.

    Hi Jay,

It's an interesting coloring book (kinda quirky) And I could even see myself liking it on facebook, and thinking "yeah, I'd buy that."

But a minute later (once the chuckle wears off) I'd come to my senses and move on, without purchasing.

So, I have three suggestions for you. You can try 1... 2... Or a combination of all 3.

    1. Get in touch with all those people who liked it, and said they'd buy it. They showed interest, so remind them of why they liked it. And maybe offer them an exclusive discount (15% off for Facebook friends?)

This is just one idea. But basically you'll be marketing to people who have already shown an interest. Connect with them while it's still fresh in their minds. Because the longer you wait, the less likely most people will be to spend even 7.90 on such an "impulse" purchase.

    2. Change up some of the sales copy on your web page (just below the fold) to make it more engaging. Perhaps turn it into more of a story...

i.e. - "Remember when you were a child? All the joy you experienced picking up a coloring book, and bringing a boring black-and-white picture to life, with nothing but a box of crayons and your own imagination?

Well, you're all grown up now, and life is more stressful than it was back then. Sometimes you might even want to scream and curse at the people in your life.

What if you could re-live some of those happier times from your youth (even for just a little while) while de-stressing from the grown up day-to-day? Well, now you can...

Introducing My Big Coloring Book of Swears

We've combined the joy of childhood, with a more adult theme..." etc. etc. blah blah blah

This is just a rough draft (and it needs more emotion) but do you see where we're going with the story telling theme?

    3. You could promote it as a novelty gift. (Secret Santa? - Amusing party gift?)

i.e. For that person you have trouble buying a gift for, here's something we bet they don't have yet. And it's sure to get everyone at the party talking and smiling.

A lot of people won't buy something like this for themselves, but they might buy it as a unique, and inexpensive, novelty gift for someone else.

Anyway, Jay. These are just a couple ideas for you (at 6:30 am EST) Hopefully they help get you thinking of some different ways to sell your coloring book?

    All the best,
    SAR

Thanks for all this long responses I will retarget my visitors... And make a limited time offer ( as I can't make discount for Facebook friends (I am selling via Amazon))

And yes I target user that are specific and who show interest in coloring book and humor... for example

Yes it a good idea to focus on feeling in text, I will try to do something more emotional.

Thanks again for the quality of your contribution

Are you targeting your ads to any specific characteristics?

Try including more CTAs in the advert, make the copy more engaging and interesting (e.g. "The best selling adult colouring book in France") and make multiple versions of the ad.

    Hope this helps

You could give away a couple of free books. Remarketing is too harsh. I would invested to campaign for collection of email addresses (and some people promised the book for free). This adresses you can use for standard email marketing or you can take email adresses and create publics in google analytics (and then used them in google adwords) or in facebook. Emails are more permanently values.

The problem is that this marketing tactic doesn't work.

Likes are deceptive. You think you accomplished something, but all you did is build Facebook's brand.

    My suggestion is quit.

Quit like a heroin addict looking for that little shot of dopamine that comes from a like.

A like is like a nothing.

Focus on building your brand and different marketing tactics like email.

Here are my suggestions (from top to bottom):
    1. The images you use above-the-fold in your French version are much more engaging than the ones you use in the American version. So, consider changing them with ones like those you use in your French version.
    2. Your French page gets huge engagement, and people interact with all your posts. In your American you have focused in only one post (the one published on August, 16th). If the shares and comments you got there, come as a result of your ad campaign, then it's not enough. You really have to get engagement with more of your posts, and create a much more permanent relation with your audience.
    3. The "Does pregnancey weigh you?" is a nice clean-cut slogan. I would suggest you trying to add a similar post in the top of your American page, as well, and see how your Audience interacts with it.
    4. On your landing page, consider adding a sign up form above the fold, offering a digital sample of your book. This would bring subscribers to your email list. It's not that easy to convince someone in the US to click the "Buy" button, as it is in Europe. Adding a sign up form in one or two parts of your page --or maybe a pop up ad-- would help you get subscribers, to whom you could send an Autoresponder series of 5-6 emails selling your ebook. This would produce you a big number of sales. Trust me on this: I have huge experience with selling all kinds of books and ebooks.
    5. One more thing that I have seen happening with Audiences in the USA is that they tend to leave much faster than people in Europe and other places of the planet. So, I would suggest you to try to forward them immediately to the sales page in Amazon. With American audiences, reducing the steps in the selling process, always helps me increase the number of sales.

I guess we need a software that every time someone clicks on the image post on fb it will redirect to affiliate links not on the description and can be set to automation too and I guess that would u make lots of sales.

Yes the share and comment came from add. But as I get no result, I just drop donw. I didn't even get one sale for 100 likes.

This is very interesting, has a french I use to think that american buy a lot, because they have money an buying is american. Your point of wiev bring light to the problem.
