Where Does This Facebook messenger Gift Message Come From?

I'm puzzled. My products are cuckoo clocks I deign and import from Germany. Expensive, so they aren't instant purchases. My first design is a quilt shop, so I have been looking for a way to find spouses of quilters to market to. But haven't found a way yet.
In the past two days I see Messenger threads that go like this:
Hi Rita! Nice to meet you.
Your spouse will be a champ happening upon the perfect gift for you. Just fill in his or her email address and I'll send a hint...

her response is then, Main Menu

and (supposedly) mine,
Would you like a cuckoo clock as a gift?
Last week I rolled out some Facebook ads. Is this something Messenger does now when one advertises? I didn't choose Messenger ads. And I sure wouldn't do it this way.

    I have never seen that before but if anything looks unusual or dodgy, I wouldn't touch it, even if it's in Facebook where some people think every word is legitimate.

      Laurence you got me thinking..."dodgy"... I did some digging and it turns out it's a bot from Chatbot. I had been curious about Messenger bots so I played with it a couple of weeks ago. It was NOT obvious that I had done anything to make it go live. I was simply kicking the tires. In fat I had determined that regardless of how I've read that its so effective, it appeared too spammy for my business. Jeezopete I consider myself pretty darned aware and careful and I didn't get that the bot had gone live. Thank you!
