Posting in FB groups a useful promotion tool?

Is anyone still having success promoting offers or links in FB groups that they don't own? If so, can you tell me the best way to utilize them? Is it maybe to post in local Buy Sell groups? Thank you.

In my personal experience, it has been hit or miss. I've made thousands, from posting in FB Groups. But I also promote top tier programs where the profit margin is much larger than the average. I personally prefer to use software to do it, because it's much easier to keep track. When you do it manually, sometimes you'll forget which ones you've already posted to, and you don't want to post too much to the same groups too soon.

I have made money posting in facebook groups. The idea is to give value instead of spamming your link to everyone. Answer questions and show you know your niche really well. Engage in conversations. I have a whole module on Facebook mastery in my masters course and groups are one of the ways I suggest people grab free traffic. If you can provide a solution to a common problem people in your niche are having then you can easily get people on your list or make sales. I saw this blog post and hope it helps Facebook Marketing -- Traffic Tutor Make $100 a day with Social Media

It seems that just Creating a Facebook Group and waiting for members to join is not the perfect way, so do have any ideas to make people join to a Facebook group that you manage, any strategies to make it a very big Group where people can find stuff they need!!!!

for me as soon as you can reach groups related to your niche, and you post your links, it should generate some revenue, just need to make it appearing inside good comment, and not just spending time posting, but trying also to have an activity similar to a normal user of the group!! good luck!

I have a FB business account, and I ask those people to join my group. I also grow my group by joining other groups and as I make connections with people (by answering questions and stuff) I ask them to join my group as well. I don't suggest just adding people without asking. You "can" do this, because that is how the "invite" feature works, but it will make most people mad.

I know it works, but I really had a bad experience on FB groups because of one my clients. I prefer other promotional methods more than FB.

Facebook groups are great tools , you can join many groups and then use social marketing apps like postcron, hootsuit or mozipost to post to the groups automatically.
I do use mozipost because they allow you to post to all the groups you are a member, you can use it to post to all the facebook fan pages you liked.

In my case (I own a page and blog about food) I found posting to relevant groups very effective. People love content with videos and written recipes and I managed to drive good amount of traffic to my blog.

As for the tool, that's the ultimate suggestion if you don't want to spend too much time and effort in posting. In my case since I couldn't afford to use a tool for the time being, I use an excel file to track everything.

I assign groups that I will be participating for the whole week. This keeps me on track on the groups that I already posted contents and the ones that are not.

It works. But I feel its complicated. I will go for any other promotional strategys and tool rather than facebook group. It's very hectic to post manually.
