How can I add a youtube link to my facebook page without a redirect back to youtube?

I know that in the past, it was very easy to add a youtube video to facebook, and the video would play on facebook. Unfortunately, when I tried linking a youtube url to my facebook page it created a thumbnail and redirect to youtube. Is there anyway to play the video directly on facebook, or is the fun over?

    Hi Groove Detector,

Bearing in mind that Facebook and YouTube are in competition with one another, it's no longer a good idea to have a direct URL link to a YouTube video from a Facebook post.

One aspect to this is that the YouTube video link will no longer reach as many of your Facebook likes, friends etc. as before.

One option is to upload a copy of the video .mp4 file to Facebook. That way, there's no link to the YouTube version.
