How do you direct traffic from your facebook ads?

When doing paid advertising on facebook with the intent on getting people to subscribe to your list, how do you direct that traffic source?

I offer a free ebook to get people to sign up to my list, so should I offer that in my ad and then just send them straight to my landing page?

Would you send them straight to a landing page? Or would you try to make a sale off them at the same time? Well, technically I do share an affiliate sales video on my thank you page as well as my download page for my free ebook. So there is two opportunities to make money right there.

I guess what I'm asking, is if it would be more effective to have an ad that relates to an affiliate product that you're promoting that could solve their problem. So then the ad sends them to a page that talks more about the problem, and hints at a solution (the affiliate product) to get them motivated to buy from you. Then you have them sign up to your list for more info about that (product) solution. And after they sign up, they get redirected from your thank you page to an affiliate sales video that can help them with their problem?

Would that way be more effective? Of course you didn't mention your free ebook that way. But I hear that giving away a free ebook to get people to sign up is becoming less effective these days then it use to be. Perhaps it's more effective to reel them in with a solution (affiliate product) to their problem?

What do you think? What works best for paid advertising on Facebook?

Living in a fast-paced world, people are now more inclined to visiting sites or viewing ads where they can get answers or something of value directly. They don't want those strategies that beat around the bush.

Are you saying you should give them the solution before trying to sell them anything?

I guess I need to clarify that I'm only interested in paid traffic, so I'm wondering how I should direct traffic from Facebook ads to my funnel. I want to create an automated passive income for myself, not a job. I don't want to have to continually create new content for my website and facebook page. That's a never ending job there, and quite frankly I don't see how people can come up with a never ending stream of content to offer. I don't even want a facebook page because I don't want to have to keep creating content for it all the time. Thanks for sharing, but I just want to know the best way to direct traffic from facebook ads to my funnel.

If you are using Facebook, I think you should continue to test giving the free ebook and them trying to get people to buy. You seem to have a setup that may just need more traffic to see if it converts or not.

Instead of having the video on the thank you page, another test could be to just have a "recommended product" below the link to the free gift. You would then have an image of the affiliate product you are trying to sell (in that recommended product section). And a call to action hyperlinked to the affiliate offer page.

Alternatively, you may also try having a page (seen after the submission of the email) that has a message about the fact that the link to the free gift is going to be sent via email, but in the meantime the subscriber will be redirected to an offer. In this second potential test, more people may be exposed to the affiliate offer, because they may automatically be redirected to the affiliate offer.

You basically want to test and see which option works the best. You also have their email address, so, you may also earn with email followups.
