Are you following related pages? Following the people that like those pages? Interacting with the people that like pages that are similar to yours?

It sounds like you're under the assumption that people will see your profile, follow you and interact with you.

Yes, I am following around 1,600 people and 240 are following me (back).

I follow the followers of related pages.

But once you stop following people, they just stop interacting with you and you can't grow and I feel like the only way you could grow is to follow / unfollow (due to limit) people.

Following isn't the only way to interact with people on Instagram. Like and comment on photos of your followers and the people who follow similar pages.

  • Quick insight :
    1. Try to set up a bot ( not to follow people, but for liking pics of those, who have recently interacted with your content)

    2. Using related hashtags isn't enough, because you won't last long on top of each hashtag ( in case of bigger hashtag [ 1MLN +] )

    3. Try have more followers than following ( making your page more professional)

    4. Use Garry vee's 1.80 $ method ( google it ) - it's about interaction, not money.

    5. You can post other people's content and give them a credit in the description, or tag them.

    6. Like other peoples comments.

    7. Ask questions on your pictures ( with subtilities) and try to post a vid form time to time as they are more likely to go viral.

    8. Post when people are not busy - about 7 - 10 a.m and 8-11 p.m

    9. Try to collaborate and exchange content with profiles with the same following. ( ideally, with a bigger following than yours)

I think, it was helpful - I can recommend you two cheap tools for hashtag research and IG automatization - It's Jarvee and Ashatory.

If you found it useful and want to use those tools - just DM me so I can send you an affiliate link -I don't want to sell anything, but if you decide to buy them, then, after all, you will have to pay for them. ( Treat it as a reward for writing long instruction)

I wish you luck, HAVE A NICE DAY

To go more into depth on Gary Vee's $1.80 strategy, growing on Instagram organically these days can only happen from constant interaction in your niche (or a shoutout from a big page). By leaving your 2 cents on 90 top posts in your niche, you will soon get recognised and people will start following. However the only problem is that it is a bit tedious, however if you stick with for 30 days, the results are pretty worth it.

thats very true . with Gary vee's strategy i have been able to get like 10-15 followers from the entrepreneur niche on a daily basis . just its a bit stressful but nothing comes easy . i just drop my 2 cents on 45 pages in the morning and the other half at night before sleep. that way wont feel the stress so much

      Hey Kubson,

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

Related to the Jarvee app, I am planning to use it since I tried the trial period and I like it, but still find it kind of confusing and I do not know how to use it safely.

I would like you to be my referral when I buy the monthly subscription.

Please send me a referral link.

Also, do I have any other costs than the usual monthly subscription if you are my referral or you use the benefits as a referral.

Thank you for the tips and hear from you soon.

ps I can't DM you yet (new member)

Yes, I do enter hashtags (between 5-9 per post) and with the followers I have (240) I have maybe 25-60 likes per post.

I know that these likes are not gained from my followers but anyway the likes don't convert to followers.

    Hi Smiljan,

Well done buddy, profile-wise. All checks covered.

You are doing nothing wrong. But you are seeing no growth because you neglect a certain activity that virtually all struggling IGers neglect; going off-site aka off-profile.

    Here's what you do:

    - Like other user's updates
    - comment on other user's updates
    - message other users asking how you can help them

Follow those 3 steps generously for the next month. Be authentic. Be genuine.

All growth with your IG account should skyrocket because you'll generate interest, by being interested in others. Easiest way to grow your IG account quickly, by far.

It can be exhausting operating a business account on Instagram. To get the attention you need to stand out from your competitors, you need to receive a lot of engagement. That means spending countless hours interacting with others to convince them to follow you.

Some people just don't have the time to do this, especially while running a company. Fortunately, there are services out there that can do it for you. In fact, they can do it quicker and more efficiently than any one person could.

Reading the comments and the only thing that comes across my mind is that you MUST/NEED an automation tool to help you achieve this ...

I really believed that it can be done otherwise, but the time you will spend doing that manually is time wasted, at least in these early stages of growing.

The risk of being blocked is surely there, but I continue to be convinced that it is probably worth it.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11343114].message }}
      • If you use automation intelligently, then there is almost no chance to be blocked
And yes it helps a lot
        {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11343181].message }}
      • Keeping real simple, there are 2 ways for Instagram growth:

        1. HARD & LONG WAY: Is for you to do everything manually. Engage, comment, follow, unfollow, and on and on with hundreds of Instagram profiles.

        2. EASY & LONG WAY: Use a system that allows you to set up parameters to engage, comment, follow, unfollow, and on and on with hundred of Instagram profiles; on autopilot mode.

        I hope that helps.

        Stay cool and successful...

Using Influencer marketing continue to be a very a effective and, even maybe, speedy way to make yourself known on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media platforms.

And when thing about Influencer Marketing here a couple of things you will need to focus on too:

        1. Be organized.
        2. Pu together a strategy.
        3. Have plan and a budget to support that plan.
        4. Get ready to spend time doing your research for your product and service you want to market using social media.
        5. Be patient and know that you are interacting with real people who have real lives. Other words, busy people.

        Great advice.

        Stay cool and successful..

Interaction is a big part of gaining and retaining followers. It's not just about following. You have to like and comment back to them, tag them in posts, etc.

A graphic designer I hired long ago suggested that I try out those automated Instagram apps like follow liker. I would use them with caution, however. Instagram doesn't exactly like it when we use bots to gain followers.

On a more personal note, I prefer getting followers organically than through paid software, but to each his own. It's harder, but it makes the follower count mean more than just a number to me.

    Hello Similjan.

Although I am sure there are people on this forum that have much more experience with Instagram than I, I want to share some of the things that worked for me pretty reliably.

Keep in mind that Instagram is much more than just a picture that you are posting. Words in descriptions are very important as well because they are used by the Instagram algorithm and ranked accordingly (yes, Instagram is a search engine, shocker). Therefore, you need to use a lot of text. Try writing two to three paragraphs to each picture and optimize the text for the keywords you want to rank for. More text means that you will take more space on somebody's screen, increasing the chances that somebody will notice you and read what you wrote.

Instagram is centering on a storytelling. Include a short story about the image that catches people's attention, inspire them, help them realize their potential. Try to include emotions in your text because emotions appeal to more than just reason of a person.

Make sure every image is very subtly branded with your handle (meaning your profile name, such as @Joe). Do not overdo it though, you only need something small, that will not take away from the actual image. Branding like that will create an association between the topic and brand. A lot of people think that you improve brand awareness when people click and interact with your content, but what they fail to take advantage of is all the people that scroll past your images. When enough people would see your name together with images about food, they will start associating you with it. Eventually, some of those people will start clicking on your images over other people in the food industry because of the familiarity they developed over time.

Best handle to have for such branding is a short and memorable one, so that people would remember it easily. So if you have a chance to change it for better one, I recommend you do it.

Regarding following others, I found that tagging other people to your posts work great. Make sure those accounts have similar following and story. Work on enticing them to like or comment on your images. Once they do that, it shows up on their profile for their followers to see, so you'll get a nice inflow of traffic over to your profile from that.

Regarding hashtags, Even though Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags (I think), I wouldn't recommend going over 10-15 hashtags at most. I would stay around 10 to be safe. Spend time at coming up with a variety of hashtags, in o order to avoid Instagram labeling your post as a scam. Go to Displaypurpose.com and use their hashtags generator if you can't come up with any.

Share other user's content. When you find something interesting that other people in your topic are posting, share their stuff while giving them the credit for work. Moreover, add something valuable to it by commenting. This way you are building valuable relationships that will compound over time.

Last but not least, experiment with Instagram Ads. Even though this is a paid option, there is no harm in trying it out, especially if you have a post or two that are receiving a lot of action from organic traffic. Blasting them to new people in the specific audience can gain you a lot of new followers.

Oh, one more thing before I end thing behemoth of a reply. If you overuse your hashtags, your Instagram post can actually receive what call a silent penalty. Just like with SEO and over-optimization of the website, over-optimizing your post may result in your post losing its ranking or dropping off of the list altogether. The worst thing is that you don't receive any notification when this happens and often only see a drop in activity (fewer likes/comments). With new posts, you may think the post is just not interesting to your audience, when in fact it could've been a killer if not for the penalty. I found that taking off all the hashtags from the post for few days usually removes the penalty.

That is all I have to say. I hope this will help you grow your audience at least a little bit. Have fun and be patient.

Posting good high quality pictures wont help you grow. People need to know you exist to like your pictures. A few hacks can be:

    1) Get creative with your hashtags. Be funny, ironic, or outrageous - but never boring!

    2) Promote your dedicated hashtag on your other social profiles, on your website, and your email blast.

    3) Use your bio link to drive traffic to your newest or most popular content.

    4) Try videos, live videos, and Stories

    5) Post at your best times

    Hope this helps

    1. You may consider the follow/unfollow method but please be careful of its restrictions and all.
And if you are using a bot, please be even more careful.
This is one of the fastest way to build a following.

    2. Video,Viral,Videos

You got that right. You need to be posting videos, especially viral videos. Heck, it doesnt even have to be your own content. Reposting is one of the best ways to get traffic to your Instagram account.

But in the end of the day, what you want is traffic to your bio link where you build your list (I hope), so why not consider other means, such as a solo ads or something instead? Unless you have a large following, it is going to be very difficult to monetize it.

Don't use popular hashtags, use specific ones - related to the content you're posting. Also, you can use tools for boosting your post engagement, such as Fuelgram. This tool brings you numerous likes and comments from real profiles belonging to your niche, puts you on top of the explore feed, and after some time you'll get more likes and followers organically.

It may be laborious running a business account on Instagram. To get the eye you want to face out out of your competition, you need to acquire a whole lot of engagement. That means spending infinite hours interacting with others to persuade them to follow you.

Some human beings simply don't have the time to do this, particularly while running a corporation. Fortunately, there are offerings obtainable which could do it for you. In fact, they can do it quicker and more effectively than anyone person ought to.

Well, a lot has been said but from what I've observed your following greatly outweighs your followers and that seems like a characteristic of a bot-operated account.

Besides posting good content regularly, you need to be calculative of your hashtags. Advisedly, as a beginner, you should be targeting hashtag between 25k to 200k.

Also, though another commenter advised against using more hashtags but for me, I always try to use a minimum of 25 hashtags though I mix them always and I have had a steady rate of engagement.

The best would be if you get the early engagement from big accounts from your niche. The good news is you can easily get that.

You can get the early engagement through engagement groups. Engagement Groups are groups of Instagram accounts. On Telegram, for example, is a group of 600+ people. Most of them are from the motivational quotes/success quotes niche.

You can join this group and big accounts with 100.000+ followers will like and comment on your posts. This is how your posts go viral and get thousands of impressions. It´s that simple.
Let me explain how this engagement group works, how you can get into it and all that.
It works like this. Every 3 hours a bot will message you on telegram (it´s an app for your phone) and tell you to drop

your username. You then can decide whether you want to join the round or not. The bot says that at 8:30 am, 11:30 am, 2:30 pm... (every 3 hours).
At 9am est, 12 am 3 pm, 6 pm.... (every 3 hours) the bot then say that the round started. Once the bot says round started you go to Instagram and upload your post.

He creates a list of all usernames that have been dropped and messages you the list. You then have to take that list, copy it and message the list to yourself on Instagram. Then you have to click on each username and like and comment on their last post.

Everyone from the list will do that with your last post too. This is how you get early engagement.

INTERACTION is key here.. sure follow and like.. BUT LEAVE A COMMENT. your little acct name that shows up.. THAT is a link to your feed.. follows and likes are specific to ONE person.. COMMENTS are open to anyone that reads them.

REMEMBER It is called SOCIAL media.. its not LIKE media, or FOLLOW media.

And this whole you need a bot thing.. For the love of... something. DONT do it - there simply is no reason to.. and WHY? risk your account? If you cant go out and comment on a few feeds a day, everyday.. then there is something else wwrong.

I could seriously start up an account TODAY.. put up 2 pieces of content and have likes and followers in HOURS.. Add more content and more commenting.. and in DAYS it will be hundreds.. Its simply NOT THAT HARD. Visit a feed and type in a comment, and like the thing.

This might be incorrect but I have heard Instagram doesn't like those tags. Something in the algorithm? I could be wrong but I try to stay away from that. You likely aren't getting niche specific traffic with those either.

Hmm, I think you need more interactions. Remember that Digital marketing is just like traditional marketing, except it happens on a different space. What I am trying to say is that you should try to connect with other influencers. Commenting or liking an influencer who gathered a lot of followers won't hurt you. Sending DM to them or even collaborating will surely give you followers and put legitimacy to your whole account.

And lets REALLY get to the point.. what do followers do for you? why focus on that.. are you trying to convert the traffic to something? or are you just in a vain quest to show your buddies you are someone with 1000 followers?

Seriously think about what you are doing... you are stealing other peoples images to get "respect" from people you probably don't even know... Im going to be super blunt at this point.. you are being FAKE.

Be true to yourself man... you have an interest in food.. take your own images EARN followers. You will find its a whole lot easier - TRUST ME

Best of luck man.. I truly wish you the best!

Collaborations worked for me, keep it niche specific. You can also consider influencer marketing. If you have a service or products to offer then you can definitely offer that as a trade for a shoutout from them.

Here are some of the benefits of having more Instagram followers in 2019

    1. An increase in the number of likes and comments on your photos
    2. Larger audience size for your business
    3. Becoming well known, famous and perceived as an Instagram influencer.

But how can you attain more followers on Instagram?

There are a few ways you can go about doing this, however, the easiest method to attract real followers to your Instagram profile is to simply invest in an Instagram bot management tool.

A bot (AKA web robot) for those who may have not heard of this before is basically just another word for software that runs automated tasks over the internet.

One of the best Instagram bot tools out there is Instato.io
    Link:

Instato works in three basic steps. First, it works to generate activity. Secondly, it schedules and automates your content, which then leads to more and more followers.

Another way to grow Instagram followers is to use interesting hashtags and to avoid the overuse of hashtags. Also taking good quality photos can have an impact on the number of Instagram users that could be engaged in your posts and content.

First, you have to follow the Instagram followers with your relevant niche, You also have the same type of follower's following you back on your Instagram. You have to post daily content on your Instagram page. You have to follow more people relevant to your niche on a daily basis. This may good for your Instagram traffic and you have to create multi-account or automation for getting more traffic.

You need to use those popular related hashtags to engage with people in the same niche. Comment, like, and add value to their posts. Use all the tools Instagram gives you such as IG TV, and stories to engage your audience. The first 5-10k followers may require some work but after that it will start to pick up.

GROWING YOUR INSTAGRAM: WHAT NOT TO DO
Of course, we need to quickly touch base on what you shouldn't do when trying to grow your account.
First, don't get too hung up on your numbers!
It's a slow game, and if you are checking your follower count every couple hours, you'll drive yourself mad seeing the number go up and down.
Secondly, set goals that are realistic.
Don't plan on reaching 10,000 followers in three months if you are just starting out.
Is it possible to reach that many followers in such a short amount of time?
I guess anything is possible, but to be honest, it's not the norm.
It's ok to grow slow. I personally don't know any bloggers who haven't spent at least a couple years growing their accounts to sizeable followings. So, less focus on the numbers!
Let's talk about some of the poor strategies that you should avoid when trying to grow your Instagram account in 2019:

    FOLLOW TRAINS
A follow train is when you drop a link to your Instagram account somewhere, and everyone else who has left their link has to follow everyone.
These result in a whole bunch of random followers who likely don't care about your content.
In my Facebook group, Creative Girl Bosses and Bloggers I do a variation on this where I only require participants to follow five other accounts of their liking.
This ensures that people are only following accounts they like, so if you'd like to participate in a follow train, try to find ones like that. You don't get as many followers, but the followers you get will actually be engaging with your content.

    NON-TARGETED GIVEAWAYS
Giveaways can be a great way to get more followers, but you can also end up with lots of non-targeted followers if the item you are giving away is too broad and appeals to too many people.
You might end up with a spike in new followers, but they probably won't interact with your content which will really hurt your account in the longrun.
If your followers aren't interacting with your content, the algorithm will stop showing your posts to as many people.
You should also read my story on how I ended up losing 3,000 followers after a poorly-planned giveaway.

GROWING YOUR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT IN 2019
If you'd like to grow your Instagram account in 2019, remember that creating a community and engaging is going to be a huge factor in your success.
On top of taking the time to genuinely engage with others, you should also make sure your photos are appealing.

You should try a promotion bot in order to succeed. Personally I've tried many of them and stopped on Ingramer. In comparison with others it's really great and it simplified my life a lot. As it saves time and does all the work for me.

Hold up. How long have you been using it? I have been using Instagress for a while, until it got shut down and I also had safety problems with that. Like I needed to constantly re-login to my account, I am sure that was because of the bot. Also, mind sharing how many followers you gained through this Ingramer thingy? I am looking for some automation tool, cuz manually doing all that stuff is really draining.

Have you tried to use hashtag generator? Because you can't define which hashtags have been blocked by Instagram and to choose suitable ones. I like Ingramer hashtag generator. It's free and perfectly match images with related hashtags which work best for your growth.

Always engage with other Instagram profiles that are relevant to your business and content. Always drop a comment on their posts. Be seen. They may not respond to you, but other users may notice you and follow you back.

Keep everything organic when it comes to followers. Yes it may take time, but it is worth it. Buying your way into Instagram won't really work with bots and fake profiles. This would only reflect a bad impression as well as most of the followers you have are just fakes. Plus keeping it organic saves you money as opposed to always buying followers.

    Hi Smiljan,

Starting an Instagram page is not as easy as it looks. Let me tell you that one of the parts of a successful page is the content, but a marketing strategy is also equally important.

Now, As you have already set up your page, these are few things you should continuously be aware of for growth:

Be Findable: Use hashtags and tags

    Promote Yourself

Create a proper plan and schedule for your content

    Keep Finding What's Trendy

    Run Contests

I hope this will help you out, Thanks!
