Is the Cambridge Analytica scandal the beginning of the end for Facebook?

As someone who wants to drive social traffic, is it worth putting effort in trying to build a FB fanbase? Will FB survive much longer, or should I just assume they will be in the game for many years to come? Can FB association hurt a site? FB has not shown much regard for people's privacy, so having association with them might actually do more harm than good.

In case people think there is still value, how does one quickly drive traffic to one's blog via FB?

FB isn't going anywhere. While some people did jump off the FB bandwagon for personal use, most of us still use it for marketing.

In regards to your second question, the quickest way would be through paid promotion.

That's interesting, I didn't know Snapchat was a Facebook competitor. I was never into Social Networking though.

Remember there has never been a social networking site as successful as facebook before so this is all new territory. I suspect most users are not aware of the implications of the scandal and will carry on with feeding their facebook habit.

I dont think it is anything to worry about.

What you got to keep in mind is that the vast majority of Facebook users never heard of Cambridge Analytica.

Marketers are a very small percentage of users compared to their user base. We may know about it, but the normal FB user does not.
