Facebook boosted posts - What happens to posts when boost is finished?

I have boosted a post on my Facebook Page for my business several times. The analytics show me that the post has been shared 35 times, which I gather means that 35 people have this post on their timeline. I assume that these shares should receive ongoing traction e.g. likes and other shares? Yet, once the boosted budget has been used up there are no further shares or likes received for this post.

My question is, once the budget runs out does Facebook have an algorithm that ensures this post is removed from people's timeline or it becomes more or less invisible to friends of people who are connected to the sharers Facebook page?

Once the budget is off, your post will still have all the social signals it got from the promotion (likes, shares & comments). So yes, The post will remain where it was shared.

Now, I wouldn't really recommend going with boosted posts from the page. The best option is to create a post then :

1- Go to the ads manager.
2- Create a new campaign using the post ID.
3- Link your page with it.

We noticed that a campaign run from the ads manager performs better than a regular promotion with boosted posts.

The post will still be there without losing comments or likes it just will be no longer boosted

As others said the post, likes, shares and comments received will be there and now if you gain more engagement its all organic but if your page is small then chances are less.
