How am I getting Facebook page likes without advertising?

I'm wondering something as a newbie to Facebook. I created a page not too long ago, and I keep getting emails from Facebook saying that people are liking my page. But I haven't done any advertising yet so how are they finding my page?

I got like 35 page likes which isn't a lot, but I'm sure that very few people who visit your page actually like it. So I must be getting a lot more visitors than that. So how are they finding my page in the first place if I'm not advertising? Seems unlikely that that many people would find my page from doing a search.

Also, I'm planning on posting some articles from my website that have affiliate links in them. And I'm wondering if I would be better off advertising the articles on Facebook, or running a page like campaign and then posting the articles to my page. Does one work better than the other, or do you do both?

Facebook is? SOCIAL media.. if you do it.. it needs to be a post.. maybe not to the extreme of "Just Got Up" "Just made it to work" IE My house is empty go ahead and rob me.. but if you are creating content at the very least link to it.. and maybe not every time but duplicating your content ( posting the article ) say once a week is not a bad idea.

If you liked a FB page, FB will suggest more related pages for you to like.

Well Facebook is a good platform for content promotion. People will like your post only if it offers some usefulness to them. You brand promotion completely depends on what you share and to whom you share. I think you should go for Content promotion first with that your brand automatically gets exposure.

Lot of truth to that. Assuming the content is brand worth then yes. Thing is a brand (your own brand) is difficult to promote and maintain. Doable? Yes! Difficult? Yes!

Automatically? Don't think so. Care to elaborate please?

That has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the original poster's question. Did you even read the question? If you did not then regroup. If you did then regroup.

Post the articles to your page then advertise the page. I also recommend you set up a blog and post your articles to that as well

  • Thats pretty normal, I still get the notification for pages that were created and I never posted anything over it.
Besides for posting best would be to post them on the page and run ads for images or videos which can help you gain more engagements to your page.
