It is good for both but it depends on what the business is and who the customers are. I think it would be hard to say it is better for one over the other because of the factors that go into it.

Social media marketing is effective for both B2B as well as B2C businesses. Again it depends how you brand your self on social platforms. Social media contributes in improving your digital PR, brand image & brand recongnition. It also contributes in genereting leads a well. Most of B2C business are only using social media for their operations. Yet again for B2B it is a neccessaity. A company has to change it self according to the new trends in market. Social media is the new medium used for advertising these days. It has taken a large chunk of portion of advertising from conventional print and other electronic media.

Your response is very informative and on-point. I do agree with you when you said that it depends on how one brand oneself on social platforms. Social media is definitely a super effective way of generating leads. It is just that the individual or company seeking those leads need to know how to target the potential being sought. There needs to be a lot of testing as well to determine which social media platform(e.g.,Instagram, Facebook, Linkdin, ect) would work well with the business model being used.

You are definitely correct! Social Media Marketing has to do a lot with what type of niche you are working in and want to target. The company, online marketer, or entrepreneur needs to understand that first. In this new age, SMM is what practically every big company is doing and those who are not(e.g., Blockbuster) are being swallowed up by those who are are(Netflix). Great perspective and advice.

You response was short but I believe it hit the nail right on the head. Your answer reminds me of an episode of the show 'The Profit' in which the host, Marcus Lemonis, took the lady he was helping to save her business, in an area where she wanted to open a new store.

When he got to the location he pointed out to her that there were no heavy traffic passing in front of the store. And that is the difference with social media. With social media you can pick yourself up and get in front of the traffic. You can't pick up your brick and mortar building and put it front of traffic.

Social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, are Twitter are the most popular and easy ways of getting in front of such traffic.

      Great advice!

      Yes you indeed correct!

The seller or marketer must know what he or she is selling and come up with a solid marketing plan to target the right client(customer or business).

I don't believe it is that difficult to figure out which client to target.

      Good Response!

      Well said Clairedivas056!

Branding is another key factor in social media which I believe a lot online marketers and entrepreneurs don't fully pay attention to. Social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkdin and more, I believe, make it easier to brand yourself like never before.

For example, I believe Instagram is at the fore-front of that. I mean, Kylie Jenner became a BILLIONAIRE off Instagram. Branding can't get any better or easier than that!

      Great Advice!

      Correct JamesSilverwood!

The whole world is on social media. People in areas where there are no running water and 24 hours electricity are social media(Instagram and Facebook).

      It amazing!

      Great Comment!!

Great distinction FrazeTowne between using social media for B2C and B2B.

      Great Response!

Linkedin is such a great place for B2B leads that, I believe, a lot of business professional are not actively using; and I include myself in that group. Nevertheless, I have seen the light and will start using it more.

      Great Response!

      Interesting!

I am bit a intrigued about he LTV part.

How would LTV play a roll in social media marketing?

I supposed if you one is borrowing money to engage in social media marketing and looking at the ROI, then looking at LTV would make perfect sense.

      Great Advice!

Exceptional breakdown of the different social media platforms and the each one provides.

      Two Thumb Up!

      I agree with your response.

B2C target the social medial platforms where consumers frequent the most like you Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, ect. While B2B focuses on reaching to niche businesses.

      Great Advice!

      Monica8297, I 100% agree with you perspective.

Might I add, I would say B2B would probably say the same.

Social media is having a great affect on B2C and B2B.

To you question @vistasadmedia, I say that social media is better for both B2C and B2B.

Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram has done wonders for individuals and companies marketing to consumers and to other businesses. We can easily pick up our newspapers and read it for ourselves every single day.

Nevertheless, it is not just arbitrarily marketing just to be doing marketing. Given both consumers and businesses are using social media, the question becomes "What product/service do you have and to which market should it be advertised to on social media?"

That's the real question and it is a question I believe is very easy to answer.

So ask yourself, what product/service do I provide and which client or sector would benefit from it?

      Hope this help!

      To your success.

Social Media Marketing completely depends upon the niche you are working in, whether it be B2C or B2B. If you are working with a B2C, then you can put up strategies and ideas for marketing your product to the target market. Similarly, if your product is a world-wide product, let's say you are working with a Cloud-based product then it becomes much easier for you to penetrate in the market. You just need to know where your audience is sitting and from where you can get them right. In case of B2B, you have lesser chances from Social Media because of the delicate/specific target market. You are more keen on getting businesses on-board with your service. In my opinion, do correct me if I am mistaken, SMM is much better for B2C than B2B.

I assume you are trying to find companies that you can offer your social media marketing services?

If I was you, I'd try to find one industry that interests me or that I am passionate about. Go deep into it, join their communities and see what they need and offer it to them. You can make a lot of money just being a specialist with one industry inside either B2C or B2B companies.

We can't basically compare between social media marketing with B2C or B2B, as it depends on business to business that which will be suitable for the business.

Social media is a wide platform which consist mainly of modern audience so social media is beneficial for the companies which sells product or services which are useful for the modern audience like online shopping, etc can attract people to your business but if a company which sells stuff for old people then social media marketing won't be a good platform, but in this time mostly all companies use social media as their audience is there on social media.

Social media plays a vital role in boosting online presence, improving brand image and brand recognition. Apart from creating brand awareness, social media also generates qualified leads for a respective business.

For a B2B business, social media marketing is a necessity but if your business is based on B2C model then social media can be utilized for operational purposes.
