How do I grow a Facebook page and group?

Hello, my name is Jason. I am getting ready to launch a product and in a new business, and have about two months before my products come in from China. In the meantime, I am working on growing a facebook page and group to build a following before they arrive.

Do you have any tips for getting followers/likes? Any free strategies would be great! Right now my I am making posts daily however I have not been able to get many new followers other than friends and family.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jason V.

    Hey Jason,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new business venture! Are you selling just one product or a number of different products? Are they in the same niche?

Use the search function at the top of the page to find many many threads and posts on growing a social media following. It can be done for free, but it would help if you had even a small budget for advertising.

What are your posts currently about? Are you using hashtags? It's not enough to just make regular posts to grow your following, especially when you're just starting out.

Also, check out the digitalmarketer website. It has a LOT of great information for beginners like yourself...and it's free.

There's a lot to learn...correction...there's not a lot to learn to grow a social media following, but it takes time to become good at building a quality following. You have a couple months. Good luck!

It also helps to ask more specific and detailed questions in the forum. Asking us "how to get more followers" is a very vague question. You're more likely to get a wide range of answers that could confuse you more. Learn the basics at digitalmarketer and search the forum. I think you'll find more than what you need for the next two months with those 2 resources.

Thank you so much for your help, Mark! I just got signed up at digitalmarketer, it looks SUPER helpful!

Also, to answer your questions, right now it is just one product, however, I will continue to add more products in the same niche. Most of the content I have been posting have been short posts with helpful tips, or videos relating to my niche. I have not been using hashtags, though, so I will start to use those!

Thank you again for your help!

You're welcome! Forgot to ask you, why are you focusing just on FB? Why not IG, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc? Or even better, using all of them to market your product? Your marketing is seriously narrowed with just FB.

Search related facebook groups. Follow tons, create posts and link to your facebook page.

And let members in freely, no restrictions. Just keep the content good so that you get more users.

And find subreddits related to your niche, and post over there linking to your facebook page.

      - Use relevant hashtags when creating posts
      - Tag people who might be interested
      - Don't forget to out in that CTA, encourage people to like, share and comment
      - Be consistent with your posts
      - Don't be afraid to network with people within your field and collaborate on social media.

Thank you, I appreciate the input. I like the idea of finding people to collaborate with.

How would you recommend getting started collaborating with others, especially when I am starting since I will not have much to offer the other person?

        Thanks

Thank you, I did not think to do that with other groups! I will try that out, and look into reddit!

Thank you! I definitely agree with both ideas. I will probably try to just use the content strategy for a couple of weeks, and when I get closer to launch, start spending money on growing even faster.
