Getting images for niche business

Hello, so I would like to grow my instagram account but I dont know where to get images for the content. I have seen many instagram accounts with over 10M followes and only posting 2-3 "stolen" pictures from pinterest.

Like, can I just take the pictures from pinterest and elsewhere and use them on my "business" instagram account or how is that working? I noticed like tons of such instagram accounts with all kinds of followes from 1k to over 10m.

I am in such a niche that pinterest has perfect pictures for it.

Don't use copyrighted images for your business. You need to permission for using it. If you want to use Pinterest images for Instagram, you should go to the source URL and contact the owner of the site for permission. I don't think so they will give you permission if they, then permission comes with a cost. Use Unsplash, Freepik, or other free images websites.
Be careful doing that, without first getting permission from the original owner.

True. Those IG pages using stolen pictures should be reported. Always ask permission from the owners of these images. Better yet, why not commission them to make image content for you? You get exclusive rights to the image and will be supporting the artist as well. That's a win-win right there.

If you are opting for free stuff though, better find someone who would do it for your for free or start learning on how to create your own image content. Never use stolen content ever.

There are programs such as Canva and Picmonkey for making graphics similar to the ones frequently posted on instagram. You can use pinterest for content inspiration but make your own graphics. That way you are safe from potential copy-write issues.

Ok, and I contacted someone on pinterest, they said its all good to use their images. Do I need something written before I use their pictures or how can I make sure I have their approval?

Keep a record of the conversation where they gave you permission to use the image. As long as they own the image I would think you'd be good. My suggestion is that you should make sure that the person giving you permission actually has the authority to give you that permission.

A screenshot with all the info should suffice. It would be better if it is in a more formal form like an email.

Pinterest specifically defines any image posted there are available for re-use, or something like that . . . get info on the exact details of that so you know what you can and cannot do there.

To find non-copyrighted images . . . do a Google image search, click "settings / advanced search" and on the bottom "usage rights" options, select "free to use, share or modify, even commercially". That will mean that MOST of the images which come up, you can use in any way. BUT be intelligent . . . for example, Filckr automatically defines all images as copyright free, but if someone takes a photo of a page of a book and posts it there, obviously that's really copyrighted. And most Wikipedia images require attribution.

From the image results given by that method, you will find many genuine free image websites, and you can do further searches on those.

    Hope that helps !

Do not use photos of other users. You violate copyrights and you may even be sued. Not worth the risk. Create your own unique image.
