5/3/2 rule of content

Hi all-I'm new here. Am conducting a social media audit for an organization that follows the 5/3/2 rule of content sharing. They have great content, but they're going to great lengths to find other content so they don't appear self promotional. Is it heresy these days to suggest that if you've got content of great value just use it (as long as u don't come across as self promotional or spammy)? It seems like the content itself is what should matter, if it's good for the audience. Has anyone had experience with the majority of posting being your own (or your company's own) content? Thanks!

    Mine is 100%
    mine.

What matters is that the content matches your marketing, that it gets people further down your funnel.

And that you do not steal content.
