Can you promote your business with TikTok?

TikTok is currently the hottest social media platform, and has steadily seen increased usage especially by millenials and Gen Z users. It's also uncharted marketing territory, and everyone can write down rules and techniques to maximise TikTok as another marketing platform.

If you run a TikTok account how would you use the platform to promote your brand?

TikTok Ads is a method I have experienced great success with, in the teenager segment. Only disadvantage about TikTok Ads is you need to get approved.
In terms of running a TikTok account and promoting your brand organically, I will not doubt it's possible, but you have to be very aware of what you're doing. I would suggest having run at least one other successful TikTok account first, just to get a hold of how it works, what to do and how the community is.

Of course you can.If I have a business, I'll definitely make tons of videos about my products or services in a brief and interesting way. You must attract the viewers in the first 30 seconds of your work or else they will not be interested. Brevity and humor are the keys.

      Brevity and humour

These two are arguably the key methods to every TikTok (and maybe even Instagram Story) post.

I will first make followers with trending videos and after reach million people verified my account with the Tiktok team, and then start to give information to the audience about my business.

Tiktok is very hard to be used in marketing businesses since it is somehow completely based on video content. So if you are good at viral marketing and have enough video content Tiktok would be a good marketing choice for you since it is a very trending socialmedia platform these days.

TikTok is testing a new feature that could give the popular video-sharing app an entry into e-commerce and a new way to make money beyond advertising to its growing U.S. audience.

Latest, greatest thing - but what is behind the scenes makes me a bit cautious...

TikTok, owned by Beijing-based parent company Bytedance, has exploded in popularity and become one of the few Chinese-owned social media apps to gain traction in Western countries.

Is there anywhere in the world where people give out more personal information - financial information - business information.....freely ....than on 'social' sites?

I don't think people understand the power your average 12 yr old American girl has. 12 Yr old girls RUN the music industry, as an example.

12 yr old girls SHARE video's with their mothers and fathers.. "Hey, look at this" and its some grown tail man being goofy as he is changing a lightbulb advertising his electrical business - YES I have seen it - my 10 yr old son showed it to me!

KIDS are incredible go betweens - between BRAND and parents - IF you understand how to pull it off... I can t say I am good at it, but I have had my moments ( not on TikTok yet - but trying )

That being said, we assure you that we are continuously working on this and we are pleased to share that the auction ads platform will be open for self service in December 2019 or Q1 of 2020 so do stay tuned to hear our updates!

In the meantime, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to having you on our platform very soon!
I look forward to testing it.

Hell, give it shot. Test test test. Maybe show your brand off in the most humanistic and simplest ways. There's no need for hype or expensive props. You don't need sh*t. Just capture your brand AS IS. Down to earth.

In fact, I've seen restaurants deploying content advertising their piping hot delicious food on TikTok by simply using their phone to record live customer reactions and/or just showing popular menu items being cooked. Then you just edit, add a sound (music or saved sound of another TikTok user), add effects - done.

FYI, speaking of the restaurant business, if you're looking to start making TikToks, add MUKBANGS to your list of content strategies. These are videos of your customers EATING your menu, not just tasting it. These customers become influencers of your brand by just allowing an audience to watch them eat. That's it. This is HUGE in the seafood arena, I mean, have you seen those elaborate seafood boils??!

Note: I'm not just a TikTok lover, I'm a content producer for TikTok B2C users. Holla at me.

For the time being sticking to FB ads looks fruitful to me since Tik Tok is a new ad platform and don't know if you can publish ads like Facebook where you can actually set interests and behaviors for your ad set.

TikTok is the easiest platform to rapidly grow a following on, which you could easily monetize by sending the traffic elsewhere. I currently use AutoTokker to automate it so it is a low time commitment with high risk/reward. Have you guys actually made an account and posted some videos yet?

Any social media apps that goes viral and gets lots of users is goof for business promotion you just need to know the right way of using it.
You can start promoting on TikTok and get help from a Tiktok growth tool which is reliable such as the one I currently use. Keep making such creative TikTok videos, post them and do not worry about getting followers since you can have them rushing to your profile to get thousands of followers in no time without buying them.

TikTok is great for business, because it is rapidly growing and has a young audience that is easy to influence. What is more it is essentially a blogging platform, so the mechanism with influencers work here perfectly.

I think it is not about the platform but the target market. I mean I wont go ahead with marketing anything on TikTok that doesnt have the target market. IF I have a product that is for people starting from Ages 10-29/30. Yes, I will surely go on and market it on the platform. Let's say I have a product whose target market is between 35-60 then I am not too sure about marketing it on TikTok.

Easily, TikTok is one of the biggest platforms out right now; especially in lockdown. Brands like PLT, GymShark and even smaller brands are using it to gain recognition in a creative way. Short videos can act almost like mini promo ads, and they work. People even use the actual adverts on there; but it's not essential if you create the right content anyway. I've seen so many small sole traders gain sales and followings through their videos so it can easily be done. I'm not suggesting to just focus on TikTok, but combining this with other social platforms could easily branch out your audience. However, it also depends on what you are selling and if your content is worthy of going viral! Like others have mentioned, always think about your target market, if you think your brand is right just go for it. There is nothing to lose in reality. We haven't yet tried using TikTok as our brand does not really suit to the audience of TikTok enough to see success; we still might give it a try someday.

You can easily promote your business on TikTok, you need to understand your audiences first. See what kind of content your targeted audiences are engaging with on TikTok and approach them with fresh and favorable content to get their attention. You need to have a physical presence with a strategy lined up before you promote your business on TikTok.

TikTok is a very interesting platform and I don't believe, as professional marketers, we should discount it.
Actually the 35-50 female is one of the areas that is increasing organically on TikTok.
And yes there is definitely lots of younger audience to market to if your product fits that niche.
Building a following is possible, but it is a new way of producing video, different than both YouTube and Facebook. I think branding can be done on TikTok quite well if you match your videos to your audience and build a following.
