What makes Apple so successful?

Ever since Apple introduced the iPhone X, people have deemed the Cupertino giant as uninnovative yet keeps on launching overpriced devices. There are no new cutting-edge features or game-changing tech. And yet, it's still a status symbol and still has a loyal following with people flocking to Apple stores upon launch.

Here's the introduction video for iPhone XS and XR.

So, are there any unique features which make it unique over, say, a Samsung Galaxy? Or is it just clever use of psychology and imagery to make it look like iPhones still stand out among the rest?

I own an iPhone 7 which has no 3.5mm jack (seriously), so I use their proprietary Lightning to 3.5mm dongle, and while affordable, doesn't let me listen to music AND charge my phone at the same time.

Apple got the touch screen ''right'' when all others where messing around with bad touch screens...the apple one just ''worked''. People already had ipods at this point, together with iTunes. This made a switch pointless.

Brand loyalty build up and ease of use of the UI makes lot of people hesitant to switch to an android based phone.

Id go for Apple becoming a trend. Be it computers or phones, there are way cheaper and better performing options out there. Apple has managed to make their products a part of fashion or a trend - something barely anyone else has.

One major reason for Apple's success is its dynamic, constantly changing business plan. ... Apple originally started as just another computer company. But Jobs always knew that it was meant for much bigger things.

Glass screens as previously stated they got the touch screen right. People became used to Apple accounts and syncing with Itunes etc.. They don't want to start over with Android now that competitors fixed their buggy screens. They also are used to the OS and fear change. The screens still are more responsive but everyone I know that has an Iphone has a broken screen lol I personally think it will die Jobs created what they are today by innovating ideas like the Ipod but those times have come and gone and I know more and more people switching to Samsung.

If apple is still successful it is all because of the name of Steve Jobs and that's all.

The reason what I think Apple always has been years ahead of its rivals is with each new Apple product; there is some innovative improvement that was not found in the past model.

well personally i think the end is near, if they wont give people something mind blowing every body will start looking for cheap alternatives, lets be honest the camers on all phones are the same, screen wise... well we cant even tell the difference any more.battery life almost the same in all phones,
so..when will realize they can get the same device or better one for half the money ..apple will be done

I would predict that as well. Apple became successful because they were truly innovative for a while. By now, they are just iterating on the same handful of products and getting pretty expensive at that. Recently Apple saw decreasing iPhone sales for the first time ever. Unsurprising because who wants to pay $1,000 for a phone? So, if they don't come up with a different plan, I think other companies will start encroaching on their market in bigger ways.

To answer your question... They use to do marketing differently. They use to address the "why" rather than the "what".

    Simon Sinek explains it beautifully:

    Hi,
One of the main reasons for Apple's success is to change its dynamic, continuous business plan. The works deliberately studied the market and sought to identify the pulse of the audience. Apple originally started out as another computer company. But Jobs always knew that it was for a lot of great things.

I think it start with the owner and founder Steve Jobs. He is one of the most remarkble people you will ever hear speak.

    https://youtu.be/ppXQMsj6Yfo

This speech is motivational, reachable no matter what race or creed you are, and one of the greatest life lessons you will ever hear.

Many of the Apple employees who are blessed to have worked under him must have beeen lucky. So many people go to a job with numbers or money as the main focus. Who would not want to work under this man. He is more concerned about people and your well being. This model for running a successful business will allow people to grow, innovate, take risks, and just have an assortment of like minded people who will develop great products as a result.

They've only been successful over the last few years.
They've always been considered the joke company in the I.T industry.
