Facebook has a new logo

Facebook unveiled a new logo to represent the parent company spanning multiple brands including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. While the logo simply says "Facebook" in all-caps, the logotype displays in different colours representing the different brands, i.e. blue for Facebook, green for WhatsApp, and pink for Instagram. The logo will be applied to Facebook products and marketing paraphernalia in the coming weeks.

The new logo will help distinguish Facebook as a parent brand from the Facebook app itself which will still keep the classic Facebook "f" we all know.

Facebook simply declared that it's a brand new emblem. which may appear trivial or sort of a major amendment, looking on however you check up on it, however dynamic your emblem is not one thing a corporation like Facebook takes gently. Actually, in Facebook's case, it is not entirely clear why the corporate thought it required to redefine its whole.

Here's what I mean: From a stigmatisation perspective, it's truly a good example of why your emblem is not your whole. Your whole is not one thing you stick on a web site or on a card. Your whole is that the manner individuals feel regarding your company. No emblem goes to alter that, particularly when weeks of dangerous press and public embarrassments.

That's the half Mark Zuckerberg does not get.

Facebook's announcement came in a very web log post that says the social network is "updating our company stigmatisation to be clearer regarding the product that come back from Facebook. We're introducing a brand new company emblem and more distinctive the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which can keep its own stigmatisation."

So, Facebook looks to suppose that folks place confidence in Facebook the app otherwise than Facebook the corporate. Notice what number times I simply wrote Facebook? It's nearly like it's all regarding Facebook. that tells you everything you would like to grasp regarding what Facebook is thinking about--Facebook.

Case in point: Facebook is creating its stigmatisation even additional distinguished inside its alternative apps, together with Instagram. Somehow it thinks that it's very vital that you simply apprehend that Instagram and WhatsApp square measure a locality of Facebook. I've already written regarding why this can be a nasty move, particularly for those 2 apps.

Google: far and away the foremost used program within the world, Google Search has been around since 1997 and is continually up with new good results, advanced options, and integration with alternative Google product. As of Gregorian calendar month of this year, Google presently has sixty four.5% of the US's search market share.
Bing: Bing is that the latest name for Microsoft's program, antecedently known as Windows Live Search and MSN Search. Bing brands itself as a "decision engine", going to gift results with additional real-world context than simply finding text on a page. Bing additionally powers Yahoo's search, which, not to mention Bing, serves 32.6% people web searchers.

All the big brands go with minimalist logo designs because they are versatile and can be used in a lot of different ways. This looks fresh and modern, but they probably won't get rid of the Facebook icon.
