We all know who PewDiePie is - that YouTube guy who has over 100M subscribers. But what fuelled his success?

I suppose the good portion of his success is that he was one of the first Youtubers of that kind.

Seems he was one of the first to get youtube and gaming together.

This page has 11 reasons for it: https://turbofuture.com/internet/10-...bed-on-YouTube.

Till I came upon your thread, I did not know who he was so, therefore, I conclude your premise (that he is successful) is wrong.

As winwinwords said, he was one of the first YouTubers of that kind. Back in the days when PewDiePie began, SEO competition on YouTube wasn't as difficult. Now, you need to pay the big bucks, have many existing followers on other social network sites, and more just to get any kind of descent traffic. You have less than 4 hours to get nearly 1,000 views to a newly published video before YouTube will even consider posting you in the first few results of a search. And we all know, if you're not in the first 3 results, you aren't going viral - guaranteed. That's why it's so hard on new YouTubers. And nowadays, the ONLY new YouTubers that go anywhere have thousands of followers on other sites, that way, they share it and get thousands of views in the first 4 hours - AND THEN, AND ONLY THEN... will YouTube rank your video well.

    In my opinion:

1- He started youtube + gaming so he brought something new
2- He started early with youtube
    3- He was consistant

He has a charm that makes it a joy to watch all his videos. His subjects are primarily video game walkthroughs, and younger people are more drawn. He can certainly be entertaining to all age groups, though. He presents a lot of new independent titles that fans might be interested in.

As a fellow 19-year old, I have seen Felix and his content grow and mature over the years. Some of which is why he wasn't denied the feeling of success.

He had a caliber of ideas and not one ever became unpopular.
