How do people search Facebook?

What I was mostly interested in is how a Facebook page address/URL is used...

(1) Do people usually advertise their facebook.com/[whatever] direct address? (e.g. is this something people who include on their business card?)

(2) Is it best for the address to be short, or should it be longer and more descriptive so people can find it?

(3) How do people usually search for a business's Facebook page? Would they usually search within Facebook or Google for example?

I'm just wondering why potential customers would search for a business's Facebook page rather than just searching for that business's main website. If you specifically want visitors to your Facebook page, either redirect them from your main site or engage with users already in Facebook.

I have never searched for a business's face page; I search on Google for services, products or companies. Facepages for companies come up only when I search for companies by name.

You are letting yourself get bogged down by irrelevant details.

You had another thread where you asked the same thing. The answers you got were: Brand yourself, forget about urls.

Your Facebook page should have your company name as title and a short url.

Yes that's what I was wondering about how - how people find and connect with your Facebook page... so it sounds like the best way is to direct them from your main website or connect directly via Facebook as you say

That for some reason always comes to my mind too. Its also kinda odd too when you search for something you'd think is likely to show up, aint' showing up.

As it relates to your question, I wonder if Facebook follower or likes count matter?

To add to my last questions, I would also like to know how important the page name is for people finding your Facebook business page? (As well as the level of importance of the username/URL [facebook.com/[whatever] and best practice with this)?

Well to my notice so far, it doesn't really matter what type of keywords that you're using as a name for your page. If you wanna rank better, it is always a matter of how much engagement that your post is producing with the audience and how much followers that you're having.

I've never seen actual studies that compare Google and Facebook in terms of page finding. So, I couldn't claim for both sides. But I personally think, people tend to browse on Facebook if they are looking for a specific Page.

If you want to make it short, just in terms of naming, you can use bit.ly for your Facebook Page link. This will do the trick.

So rather than focusing so much on choosing keywords, you should try to start building the content of the page first. You can start learning on Yado.io !

I am thinking what goes through a searchers mind first and foremost when searching for a page or a person. SO, I went to FB and did a search for a grade school friend. I used his name and state that I last remembered. I searched under the "People tab.Guess what I found him instantly.

Then I did a search for a certain local business, type the search in "enter key" and then once the results pop up I click on "pages" Another instant find. Of course there were other pages as well but I know the local brand.

Then I conducted a generic search. "How can I find almost anyone on Facebook?" I got several results. Some from friends like Willie Crawford, some results from pages. and these results as well.

how do i find my photos on facebook
how do i find my password for facebook
how do i find my saved drafts
how do i find my photo albums
how do i find my draft post

That's an interesting way to explore the topic... It seems like people often type in the name of something (person, brand etc) and also a location.

It's amazing how accurate the search engines and FB are. Like Accomplished Store said above, there's some powerful algorithms running in the background.

Basically search query is a word which people find on facebook and google and now the interesting talk about this how smartly facebook and google bring relevant kind of stuffs for you... that is called search algorithm means if you want to do anything on youtube facebook and google then first you have to understand the algorithm and then you should work on it... I just gave you a startup idea its up to you you follow or not...

If I'm looking for a product or store that's a pretty niche market I will usually type the product and the area into the search bar. But I'd be far more likely to use google for this than Facebook

Try to search with the most common relevant keywords from your website page to appear in the top searches of Google or Facebook. However, the name of the person is directly searched with its profession or location.
