1: Video title should be punchy and should grab the user:
2: Optimize your description with search phrases or keywords
3: Add your search queries in tags
4: Social Shares and link building
5: Last but not least Focus as much as you can on making your thumbnail appealing because if you have an unappealing thumbnail, no one is going to click on your video.

I've found that a variety of factors are needed to rank Youtube videos. Metrics, such as user experience signals, are very important when trying to rank YouTube videos. For example, it is important for the video to obtain long-retention views. This is just one of the many crucial factors that influence YouTube video rankings. Likes/Dislikes, # of channel subscribers, comments on the video, also contribute to it's ranking. Backlinks definitely help as well, but there needs to be a combination of both.

Also, a video that has a detailed description, tags, and title that sparks curiosity will get more views and ultimately rank well.

I'm no YouTube expert, but few months back, I did this experiment. I did absolutely no marketing of my channel that I built from scratch, and then, I started adding static image + voiceover video reviews of different trending topics (news, other YouTube videos etc.) on my channel.

YouTube picked up some of those videos, which ended up getting several thousand views though hardly any promotion was done.

Truth be told, never has it been easier for me to fetch a few thousand views for free than making these 4-5 minute voiceover plus static image videos.

I left the practice after a few months and carried on with other experiments, none of which has delivered even close to the same amount of traffic.

So I recommend you to leave everything else and start adding review videos of trending topics in your niche on your YouTube channel.

I've ranked videos without channel authority using brand new channels so it may be helpful but not a requirement. High retention views is definitely a factor because if viewers aren't watching then that sends a signal to YouTube(Google) that your video isn't what people are looking for for. Backlinks are helpful but really are just a piece of the puzzle to get your video ranked.

In reality there is no "best ingredient" because you need a combination of ingredients to rank your videos. I did the following post a few months back showing exactly what worked for me getting 1st page video rankings on YouTube & Google > https://www.warriorforum.com/social-...-keywords.html
