Claim your website on Pinterest

I want to publish my blog posts to Pinterest via RSS. I read on their site that to do this, you have to:
Claim your website
Claiming your website allows you to get attribution and analytics for your content which may already appear on Pinterest.
So I claimed my website, and Pinterest said I would get an email within a day or two. But I have received nothing.

Have you claimed your website on Pinterest, and how long did it take?

    Yes Bjarne,
    mine took about a day.

You could contact customer services in the Help link and ask them
to have a look at it for you.

    Kind Regards

Thanks, may I ask if you choose
"Add HTML tag. Paste this tag into the <head> section of your site's index.html file"
    or
"Upload HTML file. Download this file and upload it to your website's root directory"

I've tried the last one two times, but I guess I did it wrong. Will contact support and hope for a reply :-)

    Hi Bjarne,

it just goes into an index.html file on your website.

This is what you need to do:
    1. In the 'Claim website' section, enter your website URL and click Claim
    2. Select "Add HTML tag"
    3. Copy the tag and click Next
    4. Go to the index.html file of your website and add the tag to the <head> section before the <body> section
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Veena,

    thank you for the compliment!

No - I am not an expert, a short while ago I spent about four or five
months learning as much as I could about it and then submitting "pins"
to try and get traffic from it.

I found it great fun, and after a while I started to get traffic from it.

I am not much good at producing graphics myself, so I bought some
templates and then used Canva to edit them with (which is a free site
you can also upload them from).

You don't need to be good at graphics, as you can make it easy by doing
    what I did.

Then it is just a matter of submitting your pins, experimenting to find out
what is popular and producing more of the same.

    Hope this helps.

What is your expertise in Veena?

Hi Bjarne - I'm not sure why you'd want to automatically post to Pinterest via RSS. Why? Because Pinterest itself is saying that to be successful in 2020 with driving traffic to your site, you should be pinning fresh content every week. In addition, your pins should be helpful (linking to a post that readers will find helpful), attractively designed (so good use of fonts, original or not overly used stock images) with text and have a catchy headline that attracts readers to click and find out more. To be successful at Pinterest you need to do the work to get the results. My blog traffic quadrupled as soon as I started paying attention to perfecting my Pinterest pins, specifically for my target audience (women, moms, female bloggers). I hope this helps clarify.

      Good Points there.

If you set yourself a routine of uploading good pins regularly that has proven to be a very successful method of attracting people to your pins and then your website.

First, verify your Pinterest account by putting the Pinterest verification code in the head section of the website. and then try. It might take 1 or 2 days.

Still, you didn't get any response, Simple connect with its customer support.

not sure if claiming your site is necessary. I must have done mine a long time ago if ever. I just use the free site IFTTT (3 t's) and I believe dot com. There you can syndicate your content to all of your social networks automatically. It takes maybe 30 minutes to set up but then it posts to all your accounts (that you set up) each time you post on your blog or videos etc
