Instagram will now let advertisers create ads without linking to a Facebook page

AdWeek reports that Instagram will now allow advertisers for users in the US and Turkey to create Instagram ads without linking a Facebook Page.

According to Instagram:

"You can now create Instagram ads without having a presence on Facebook. If you are promoting a post from your Instagram business account for the first time, you won't have to connect to a Facebook ad account or Facebook Page."
Key emphasis here is first time users who likely didn't have their Facebook pages connected to their Instagram account just yet. However, existing businesses can't disconnect linked Facebook and Instagram accounts.

    The difference between first time users and existing businesses is the first time users are not registered under a business account, so all a existing business needs to do is create a new user account under a new or subsidiary business.

    Why did it take them so long?

    This is amazing news since Instagram is an awesome source of 1 cent clicks

    I posted my results a few months back and yes, IG traffic does convert

    This is great news. It would be nice for them to allow non business accounts to use this feature but there always has to be something in it for Facebook. Every platform that Facebook acquires, they try to force those users to create a FB account. If IG users wanted to use FB, they would open a FB account. This is still a step in the right direction.
