Byte sees a surge in downloads amidst issues on TikTok's future
Remember Byte which is essentially Vine 2.0? Well it's seeing a surge in downloads in the US and reached number one on the Apple App Store download charts Thursday last week.
For those in the know, Byte is a short-form video platform where people can post six second-long looping videos. As you know, in its heyday Vine was very popular but its co-founder Dom Hofmann announced its discontinuation. He then released Byte last January.
This is something worth checking out, IMO. If Vine was a hit, I'm sure Byte would be too. Oh, and it doesn't have the murky data privacy issues which TikTok currently faces.
