Snapchat and TikTok more popular than Instagram among teens - report

A survey conducted by research firm Piper Sandler found that Snapchat and TikTok are more preferred among 9,800 teen users in the US.



The respondents indicated their favoured social platforms:
  • Snapchat is the most popular, with 34% of respondents indicating that it's their top preference.
  • TikTok comes second at 29%.
  • Instagram was picked by 25% of respondents.

And while both Snapchat and TikTok are more popular than Instagram, the latter still enjoys higher usage data among teen users at 84%.

    One of the reasons for TikTok and Snapchat to be more popular among teens is that Organic growth is far better on these 2 platforms right now and Instagram's organic growth is very low. Teens are more focussed on their followers increasing or not rather than actually creating something meaningful on social media.

      I agree. But I wonder how much your ROI would be when engaging with TikTok and Snapchat influencers. Would it be worth it?

        Well, there are niches where ROI can be really good with TikTok and Snapchat influencers as well. I don't have much of an idea because I haven't used these platforms much so I really don't know about the behavior. What I know is that Instagram Influencers are doing great worldwide and I feel that these 2 platforms are no different either.
