Facebook adds more tracking and monetization opportunities to creators

Facebook is updating Creator Studio by providing more ways for content creators to monetise content whenever they're posted across Facebook and Instagram.

The main change is claiming ownership of duplicate content and associated ad revenue. Within RIghts manager, creators can now set up new rules for detecting duplicate content as it's posted.



Facebook explains:

"We've improved our Collect Ad Earnings tool and are expanding availability, which means that more creators will be able to collect ad earnings from matching videos that include in-stream ads. We've added a new filter view for spotting monetizable matches, better guidance for how to capture monetization opportunities, exportable revenue reports, and the ability to collect ad earnings while placing an ownership link on the matched video."
This will help creators manage their content better, hence maximise their revenue potential. Facebook will also expand access to Rights Manager to give more creators control over when, how, and where their content is shared content across Facebook and Instagram.

    It's good that they now allow ownership of duplicate content. This would allow content creators to get some compensation when their content is used without their knowledge or consent.
