The professional social network is launching an initial test of running ads on LinkedIn Stories. This is after rolling out Stories to the general public in September.

LinkedIn says:

"Today, we're excited to announce that we are testing Stories Ads with a limited number of advertisers in a closed beta with all members globally. Stories Ads can help brands grow their reach with our community of more than 722M members with video and image ads. Already, we have had more than 600 advertisers activate campaigns with positive performance in clicks, views and cost metrics."
Having ads on Stories enables marketers to utilise LinkedIn's vast range of ad targeting tools to target specific audiences. What's notable is that LinkedIn hasn't (yet) provided any data on Stories platform usage.

Chime in.

  • Does this mean you can monetize your stories? Can you choose who your advertisers will be? I can imagine, with the targeting, the companies who'll be putting ads on your content might also be your competitors.

Which doesn't really man much. I mean, sure, Linkedin stories exist, advertiswant to know how many people are using them, what the engagement rates are, how people are responding.

A lot of people seem interested in this new feature. I think it will be a good addition to LinkedIn as people can post things through stories.
