TikTok Added a New Q&A Option That Enables Fans to Post Questions for Creators

Matt Navara shared these screenshots; they were originally posted by app analyst Sam Schmir. They show that some creators now have an option to switch on the new question and answer function. The feature allows users to ask questions via a creator's profile. The new Q and A icon is located in the comment section once you've switched that on.

When you've tapped on the option to ask your favorite TikTok creator a question, you'll see the following screen.

Creators can choose to produce new content to answer fans' questions, and other users can see the queries get posted. Whereas before the update, users could only ask questions during a live stream, this move means they'll be able to pose queries whenever they think of them. Not every TikTok user has this functionality yet, and it seems the roll out is going to be gradual. TikTok confirmed the new Q&A feature test, explaining that:
"The Q&A; feature in video and LIVE is in testing, and we're aiming to roll it out to more users with Creator Accounts in the coming weeks. While in testing, this will only be available to creators with public Creator Accounts that have >10K followers and have opted in/turned on the feature in their settings, as well as some safelisted creators from our Creative Learning Fund program. All viewers will be able to submit questions." |
