Why businesses of all sizes should be embracing social media marketing

According to Marketing Land, businesses should look to pivot from traditional to social media marketing.

Wendy's is known for its social media posts. The folks over at Wendy's use a bunch of the platforms out there to deliver just as many biting tweets against competitors and followers purposefully asking to be roasted for a laugh as they do burgers to hungry customers. No rival burger joint is safe from the wrath of Wendy's, and you know you'll get a laugh or two out of just scrolling through their feed.

Wendy's also uses social media to deal with customer complaints professionally, and you could hold up the company's social media presence as a case study in successfully controlling the conversation and creating a connection with an audience.

Many larger business owners don't appreciate the impact that a strong online presence could have on their bottom line. Smaller businesses can also feel it's impossible to score the social media presence of a giant corporation with lots of employees, but it takes more than just manpower. Remember Four Seasons Total andscaping, though?

Four days after the presidential election - amid much crying within the Trump camp - a tiny landscaping business went viral after Rudy Giuliani hosted a press conference in front of its premises. That company was Four Seasons Landscaping, situated just outside of Philadelphia.

Four Seasons Total Landscaping capitalized on its newfound celebrity status and ran with it. The company printed t-shirts that read "Lawn and Order" and "Make America Green Again," updated its social media account, and interacted with new followers. Not every small business will be lucky enough to get asked to host a press conference during a presidential election, but the Four Seasons Total Landscaping episode illustrates that even the tiniest of businesses can interact in fun ways with their audience.
