Help, how to claim my FB page after taken over. I'm still admin but can't stop anything!

I own a FB page (edit) with 15,000 fans since 2017. I had just been working on a business plan for it after a few months of not working much on it. It has a group with 2k or so members as well. It started as a page dedicated to my grandmother (it's a nostalgia page) so this feels VERY violating.

They took over the page not by hacking me but from the ads manager.

It shows "Bro its a day" as the owner in the transparency and I can't do anything about it so far.

I'm still an admin and I can see the scammer admin but cannot find him to contact. I have no idea why they didn't remove me but they didn't. They did try to make me analyst but I was able to decline the role. I'm pretty sure he could just remove me but I cannot remove him since he owns the page.

Meanwhile they are posting very racy photos on the page's stories and I'm getting many complaints.

I have tried the page transparency page to add a verified business. I have uploaded my state's DBA document showing that I have a DBA for this business. I have shown everything I can but it keeps saying "needs more information". I also tried to claim it with my own self showing even my tax returns but nothing has worked and there's been NO actual response from Facebook.

I could start over but this is my brand and I have it for all other social media. Is there anything I can do???

You can contact Facebook by live chat and see if you can get help that way. Unfortunately it's a struggle getting decent customer service from Facebook, guess they are too big to care!

I am sorry this happened and I hate to be the one to tell
you this, but you do not OWN anything at Facebook.

Haven't you heard the warnings about not building your
business on a platform that you don't control?

Hopefully you have these thousands of people's contact
information so that you can direct them to a website or
forum that you actually do own. And if not, I suggest that
whenever you have access to this group again, you
make it a priority to invite them to join you elsewhere.

This would apply to all your other social media as well.

This was not created as a business. It was a page I started in honor of my grandmother. And it grew. I'm well aware I do not own Facebook pages but I was the owner that "claimed" in the technical sense. I have all the content I have posted. It's about regaining access to this account for more than just whatever business I had planned.

Oftentimes things that are started as hobbies/pastimes
grow into a business, which this obviously has since you
mentioned DBA documents and tax returns.

I am glad that you have all your content but it's important
that you have your members contact information. Please
heed the advice that I already posted.

And let us know how it goes.

I just got the DBA a few days ago since it was listed as one of the accepted documents to upload to try to reclaim the page. My tax returns were just to show that I indeed am a sole proprietor who works with social media (listed on it). I haven't done anything business yet with this page but the frustrating part is that I had just been working on growing it again and creating print on demand and other creative business ideas for it.

Though 15k followers isn't a lot in FB land it has one video on it that has over 20 million views that went viral a few years ago (organically). I really want to somehow win this.

I will update here yes. Thanks for the advice.
