Instagram launches automated captions on feed videos

After initially launching automated captions for IGTV in 2020, and then captions to Stories last year, Instagram's finally adding captions to feed videos as well.

As seen on the image above, users can now switch on auto captions for any Instagram feed videos, making Instagram more accessible to those in the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities, as well as those who prefer watching videos muted.

    This feature is pretty good and it can be useful as well, but sometimes it can also be annoying as you can't always choose caption yourself, or at least I didn't figure out how to do it, so it shows something that isn't the best choice for all posts.

      I'm sure you can toggle the captions on/off, as well as choose your preferred language.

    Bad idea. Autocaptions are always bad.

    But if Instagram can do it correctly, it can be useful enough.
