Can YouTube Shorts Sabotage Channel Watch time?

We have a drama channel with 200k+ subs. We have started posting 1 short a day. Our shorts got popularity and our channel's average watch time dropped expectedly. But my question is should we be worried of this? Is publishing shorts negatively impact on channels earning and reach?

    No. The overall average view duration for your channel doesn't matter. Even the total AVD for a video doesn't matter. Each type of YouTube suggestion is kept separate and handled by different algorithms.
