Twitter restores free verified checkmarks for accounts with 1M+ followers

After initially announcing that verified accounts need to pay $8 a month to keep their blue tick, the chaotic social platform has backtracked their decision and appears that the top 10k most-followed users and top10k most-followed brands now have free blue and gold ticks, respectively.

This is despite them not signing up to Twitter Blue, and in some cases them not having it previously.

Chime in.

Lol I saw that coming. If the platform wants to chase away members they were on the right track. Good thing they came to their senses.

In reality - all it does is give the same 'famous' people something to complain about that gets them back in the media.

Those who still have checks have been doing exactly that.
