Instagram DM's Yay or Nay?

Hi Guys and Gals,

In Facebook, I don't do DM's unless they interact with my content or group. I am planning to start prospecting on Instagram. Does cold DM work? How do you prospect through Instagram?

Thanks for the info in advance.

Cold Dm works but don't do it in a spammy way. Try to build a genuine conversation at first rather than directly marketing.

yes you should do it, but slowly

  • You need to make it seem organic, authentic, and non spammy. As others have stated, have a real conversation first.

Yes it works please note that your first line should be attractive. and I will also recommend to start with Hello and their name like Hello wfjcc.

Work if done right, but they require a personal touch. Keep it short, personalized, and focus on offering value, not a sales pitch. The main thing is to avoid spam, otherwise you won't get anywhere.

If you just open with a sales pitch it is useless. If you start a conversation and ask who they know that could use your service or product... then you will have better luck.

Great question and one I have been meaning to ask about here. So if you initiate a DM (and without sounding spammy), can you guys think of a classy sounding way to offer out a lead magnet or is the act in itself too spammy?

I am not currently doing any messenger chat automations but I recently added a function to do auto replies to comments for the purpose of lead gen on specific posts. Something to the effect of posting that i learned how to do this or that and saying that if you want me to tell you how to do that just comment below. It is too soon to let you know how things are going because I just set it up yesterday.

For this reason, this particular post caught my eye because I had considered experimenting with auto messenger conversation initializations but feared of coming off spammy and that's the last thing any of us want to do.

    Ideas are 100% appreciated!

We have to give in order to receive .You have to offer some value and solutions to entice and keep prospects engaged and excited about buying. Be direct and international but do not spam.

Don't text, build a quality profile and then put it into the marketing funnel for care.

  • Your profile ought to include a catchy and clean bio that tells your prospects who you are, what you do, and how you could assist them.

Well i think doesnt matter what social media you use for dm ,its important that your audience to be targeted and to know how to market on dms ,know how to build trust etc
If you just spam hundreds of people it will not work

I usually avoid cold DMs on Facebook too, but on Instagram, they can work if done right. Warm up your prospects by engaging with their posts first--like, comment, maybe reply to their stories. Then, when you DM, make it personal and not salesy right away. Have you tried any outreach yet?
