Should I Buy Twitter Followers?

And The theory is: The more followers you have, the more noticeable your presence, the more followers you're likely to get, and the more reach you'll have.
But for small businesses, this is a chicken-or-the-egg dilemma. How can you build a large audience to attract a large audience, without a large audience?

For a fee, i can buy Twitter "followers" to gain popularity fast
But there is a lot pros and cont

How about you guys?

If your followers aren't interested in what you're saying, they're completely useless. Try to generate some REAL followers would be my advice.

Not true. The "social proof" you'll get from having a high number of followers will encourage real people to follow you.

Same for people who subscribe to your feed or anything...

I agree. Unless you can guarantee that the followers you buy are real it really has very little value. It can make you look good on the outside-make others think you are very popular-but it doesn't get you real results unless the followers are authentic.

I don't think you would actually gain any popularity by buying "followers".

    What does everyone else think?

Surely if the "followers" you buy have no interest in who you are or what your doing it's a waste of money, right?

I'm no expert on the matter. Let's see what everyone else thinks

If you want to buy *real* followers, then run Facebook and Google AdWords ads using your Twitter feed as the lander.

Target the ads well (and have an interesting Twitter profile and feed, obviously) and you will have all sorts of niche followers that are interested in what you have to say.

Exactly. Plus, unless you know for sure you are buying real humans, which is impossible to prove, the followers will consistently fall off or stop following.

Finally, if you buy too many in comparison to how many followers you currently have, Twitter will get suspicious and may flag you. There have been cases of Twitter locking sites that have "suspicious" activity.

If you go from 5,000 followers to 50,000 in a short time Twitter will def know something is up because they have limit of 2,000 new followers a day and if you suddenly have 50,000, they'll know something is off.

Be sure and put #Ifollowback or similar hashtags on all your tweets and that will help you find ppl to follow you. But keep in mind it's best to find followers in your genre.

      Good luck.

Well it depends on your intent.

If you just want to beef up your account stats than sure, do it. In fact, you can get REAL followers if you are diligent in your research. They may not give a fig about what you tweet, but they are real.

You can also buy real but inactive followers. And of course you can buy bot followers.

Twitter IS for branding, sharing, and information, but that does not mean you cannot make money there. There are plenty of people who make A LOT (1K/day or more) simply by building solid accounts with real followers who are interested in what they say/share.

You have to be clever and consistent, but it is possible.

For this though, I don't think buying is going to help much ~

The only value in buying followers is if you have little to none right now and you just want to make it look like there is more hype around you than there actually is as you go about getting your real followers.

So, contrary to what everyone else here seems to be say, I think it's fine to buy like 500 followers, even though they are bots. That way as real people start to come across your twitter page and see you have 500 followers, they will say "hey this guy must be cool, he has 500 followers, I'll follow him"

If you are targeting a market that is heavily influenced by what Cialdini calls "SOCIAL PROOF" then buying followers could be a correct play.

I have noticed that in swap meets, when a store has a lot of people crowding over it, it attracts more and more people. But when there are no people in a store then no one goes there. Same goes for food trucks. People tend to pile on each other when they see that others are already doing it.

If people notice that you have a lot of followers then they might follow just because "others" are doing it. Kinda like movie that is getting good word of mouth.

lots of misleading information here that i will try and clear up...

You are right ! when saying you need a large audience to attract a large audience. Now unless you are celebrity or have a network of accounts, starting an fresh twitter account can be pain staking.

There is some truth to the nae sayers here saying its BS to buy them but whatever... they are looking at it all wrong. Of course buying twitter followers is not beneficial for the bot followers you will get but it is beneficial when you are talking about the limits twitter has

Twitter only allows you to follow 800-1000 a day ( do not do this with a new account) until you have over 2000 followers and then you are allowed to follow 10% more then follow you. so if you have 2000 followers you can follow up to 2200 , get it ?

Now knowing if you just take a brand new account and start following 1000 a day you will get banned , BUTTTTTT if you buy a bulk number of followers lets say 15k wait a couple days and now you can start following 1000 a day without any problem, up to 16500 following targeted ppl in your niche has a high follow back % , this is how you can game twitter abit

You guys fail to mention that there are providers out there that do not use bots and offer more targeted packages to remedy the "useless worldwide Twitter followers" problem. These targeted followers are akin to an Adsense campaign if done right.

For example, Buy Twitter Followers | TrafficAngels.org. These guys provide targeted followers that can be filtered by location, age, and even hobbies.

Regardless, a good worldwide Twitter boost for a business now and then is becoming standard protocol in this social media world we live in.

Buying Twitter followers is probably not the best way to go - you want people who are interested in what you are saying and, even better, what you are selling. I mix in tweets to pages with Amazon links and do get a few sales, but not many.

I use something called Buffer to send out Tweets - not all, but recent and older posts from my blog. I can see how many times people have RTed and see, via Google Analytics and Amazon, how many people have bought something. It is possible to work out a CTR and conversion rate via Twitter and like everything else, work on your strategy to get it to work.

As others point out, Twitter is good for brand awareness and brand awareness leads to visits and sales, depending what you are selling - products or services.

What Twitter is good for, if you build up followers who want to follow you, is targeted traffic to your website and targeted traffic is more likely to click on ads or make an Amazon purchase, etc.

So, don't buy, build and use Twitter in a focused way. Something like Klout can tell you how well, or not, you are doing. You have to tweet often - and Tweet when you sleep too

No because those followers will most likely not follow up on the content you post. 1000 bought followers could end up being less profitable than 1 follower that followed you because they were interested in what you had to offer (e.g. a real follower).

    Don't do it.

The way a lot of these companies that sell twitter followers do it, is they follow a whole bunch of people with #followback in their names and then you end up following way more people than are following you and none of them are interested in your content. Do it the natural way, it's not worth it.

I've "tested" this for myself and two clients. Buying followers on Twitter and Likes on Facebook seems to work. In the first 2 weeks alone on my own accounts I had a 600% increase of LIKES on Facebook and a 300% FOLLOW on Twitter.

It seems to me that when people see others are interested in your page, then they are more likely to follow. Coincidence? Maybe. But I had only been getting a handful per week on both before I did bought false followers/likes.

You need to find the right seller of this product, though. Someone who doesn't make accounts that are obviously fake.

The best way to have followers is to create a product that gets viral.
Let me explain this. Suppose you want to market a local business, band,or a company. You have to create an ebook like: 10 tips to avoid accidents at home... or how to have a solid marriage... something like that. Next, the people who want the report will buy it with a tweet.
( go here paywithatweet.com) every time somebody "pays" for the report a tweet will be visible for all the followers...imagine the possibilities. Don't forget to add a twitter button to your report.
This system is perfect to sell things, but you can use it to go viral and have more followers.

Here is why I think paying for Twitter followers is a good idea:
    • the followers are real people
    • a part of them are interested in what you are saying
    • great social signals for your website
    • easy retweets for every tweet you make
    • Most important: users tend to follow people with a lot of followers
Also, Twitter followers are very cheap!

It's pretty easy to gather real Twitter followers who are going to have more of an interest in what you have to say - it's worth putting a bit of time and effort into it.

      This.
The only reason that people buy Twitter followers from us is to beef up their newly created business accounts. That way people feel "more inclined" to follow them. Come on, who would trust a company that only had 12 followers? Let's get real guys.

Oddly enough, it does. Not directly, though. The followers you've bought will never be your clients, but having 500 followers instead of 50 may make you look more authoritative to real people and convince them to follow you.

having 1k-10k followers will surely "add" to your prestige. you should find a way to gain some followers on some accounts and then start building up your "real" followers.

just be careful cause twitter is pretty aggressive with multiple accounts and spam so you can get deleted for no reason at all. (use proxies etc.)

Depends on what you need them for.

Lots of "social strategy" people buy followers to help them get jobs. Often clueless recruiters hire the person with the most twitter followers, klout score etc.

The increase in followers may not help you reach more people but the increase in your perceived authority may get you more speaking gigs.

So indirectly the number increase can help.

You're absolutely right, Brad. Like has already been said,
people want to go where other people are, and for the most
part, want to hang out with the cool kids.

      True story:

In 1977 at the height of the Disco era, a good friend of
mine opened up a new club in a busy section of Chicago.
Now, those of you from around there probably know how
tough Chicago is to get established, but Mark had a plan.

Instead of spending a bundle on advertising which would
have made him look un-cool, he had several of his friends
hit the streets and give out tickets.

Each ticket entitled the holder to a free night of dancing
and drinking at the new club. I think they gave out
somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 tickets, and the
way he worked it - only the ticket holder got in free. Any
      guest had to pay.

At any rate, he packed the house with a line out the door
of people waiting to get in.

All the people standing outside gave the impression this was
"THE" place to be and on his opening night, he told me he
not only recovered his losses from the freebies, but managed
to turn almost a $10,000 profit!

And that was in 1977 when ten grand was still worth close to
      that amount!

So yes, having a crowd of followers around you can benefit
you from the standpoint that was already mentioned. You'll
give the impression that you're one of the "Cool Kids" and
more people will want to follow you.

This is exactly it. You are depending on people not knowing about the fact that you can buy followers for a few cents each.

I have it running on 2 computers with 5 Twitter accounts on each all different niches and running like a well oiled machine... out of 10 accounts only 2 have been suspended and I quickly replaced them...Make it a great day!

Buying Twitter followers is not a bad idea.
If you opened a new sales website/ or any other website.
Some people will come to your website with search engines or with any other source.
They might follow you in twitter or may not, if you have less number of followers.
If you have more number of followers already.
They will think it is very worth to follow and get the good updates.
And you can get good sales , if you have sales website.
Some times, it might be not useful to have followers.
But many times, it is very worth to have more number of followers.
Your brand name will be increased automatically , more leads, more targeted followers, more sales.
    Hope this helps you.

    Why pay to get followers.

Yeah you tweet out messages to them and get backlinks etc, but are followers like that really going to make you money? To me twitter is like everyone talking over themselves at a huge party, and no one really listening or taking in what is being said.

You're call......but remember the old adage, "If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is"

My first thought was "no frickin' way should anyone ever buy followers" for various reasons, but Aswad's idea seems really smart. Real potential followers may be influenced by the social proof that is your current number of subscribers.

Most of the twitter followers and facebook likes on sale on Fiverr and the like are fake people. They are of not benefit to you at all except as a start. Nobody likes to follow anyone who has no followers. It is the 'empty restaurant' problem. People would rather wait at the busy one as the assumption is that it is better. By all means by some to get started - but then do the rest manually. Produce valuable tweets and you will get followers quickly. You only need a few heavy hitters to follow you and their followers soon follow you too!

wethere you buy them or generate otherwise, twitter is not good for direct promotion. I have several accounts, some with 5000+ followers, yet I can't remember a single sale made from twitter leads. The best way to use wtitter is to drive them to your site by providing links to valuable informative articles hoping they migth click on your aff. links. But for that you need to build relationship with them first and earn their trust. DO NOT POST affiliate links on twitter - not only it's worthless, it ruins your credibility.

I am completely new to this forum. But I have a tweetadder question and do not where to turn. Tweetadder has ignored me 6 different times. All they have done is send me to their FAQ numerous times and/or ask me to send a detailed report. I send a detailed report and they send me back to the FAQ. Big revolving cycle and a pain. I have been trying to add protected accounts to my whitelist and the user id numbers do not display, which means that tweetadder is not adding these users to my whitelist and they will be unfollowed whenever I unfollow all follows except for my whitelist. If someone could send me in the right direction, answer my question, message me, help me out in some way I would really really appreciate it. I realize I may not be in the right area or even on the right website, but I need help and I know someone reading this can help me troubleshooting

Besides the "appearing to be more popular" issue....

The main reason you need to "inject" your account with followers is the "hump" issue twitter has.

You can only follow 10% more than your follower count.

So if you have 2000 followers, you can only follow 200 more than that.

    Simple solution:

Buy 5,000 more followers, you then can follow 500 QUALITY people and considering that only 1/3 of those will follow you back, you pick up approximately 150 NEW, quality people.

As opposed to sitting around at 2k and only being allowed to follow 200 people over your 2k limit and picking up MAYBE 50 out of the 200 you follow.

    Get it?

Ummm.... I wouldn't. Yes, you can "buy" Twitter "followers", but you can't buy their loyalty and trust. People follow others because they are either interested in that particular individual or that particular individual has something (a solution to a problem) that they need or want... Just my 2 cents, but I'd go the "old fashioned" route and let people find me. Just provide value and solutions to your niche. What does your niche want or need? Find out and just provide it. Answer their deepest, darkest secrets, and then Tweet about it. At least you'll know those followers are loyal, dedicated, and committed solely to you. Best of luck to you! CK

Building a twitter following is a bit like list building it takes time to build quality leads and get quality follows but once you have done it you will never regret it because the rewards are great trust me!

You can buy twitter followers and I have done in the past for other accounts but to be honest it was a waste of money and I won't be doing it again.

Since then I've built a real following manually and it is far more responsive and profitable!

I suppose it really does depend on the reasons why you are buying followers.

If you are buying so that you can increase your product popularity, then you will be greatly disappointed.

However, if you are buying simply to make an impression on other people with regards to the number of followers that you have... then this method may certainly work. (Well as long as they have no idea that you actually just bought your followers)

Just reiterating what has already been said, if you buy twitter followers that aren't interested in your product or the right demographic then there is no point in having them.

You would be much better off exploring into advertising to gain real followers via Adsense or some other means. Also expanding into other social media networks like Facebook would help in gaining followers by these same people if they use twitter as well.

I think it is good to add some extra followers. I know I have done that and not only does it make you look more official but it does improve your organic following.

Since increasing my follower I have seen an increase in my natural followers base. A few of the purchased followers do fall off over time but you should get more followers naturally or at least I do from it.

  • It's more of how people will perceive you when you have lots of Twitter followers. Basically, if you have more followers people will have this notion you are famous, you are interesting, and all sorts. You will see an increase in your followers. This will be in a matter of time.

Do you think your followers will check on your thousands of followers one by one to know whether each of them are real or not? I doubt. They don't have time for that.

Buying twitter followers will be all up to you, what's your intention or purpose, and your budget as well. However, if you want all real followers stick with the traditional methods of gaining followers. Be sure you are ready to wait for months and even years to reach 100,000 followers.

Why bother to buy followers who aren't interested in what you're talking about and who will probably unfollow you?

Try to get real followers who are interested in your topic - 500 enaged users are more useful to you than 10,000 who couldn't care less.

Use a Twitter directory or Twitter search to find users related to your niche and follow those. Most of the time you'll get a follow back and you'll be growing your profile.

Another good way to come to the attention of your target audience is Twitter chats, which are themed conversations linked by a #hashtag. Some of the big ones draw in thousands of viewers and are great place to share relevant links. I have a list of the most popular ones here.

Never buy bulk followers. If you want to buy followers, the best way is to appoint a freelancer for managing your twitter account. He or she will search among your interest areas. Follow the persons who matches your interest. You are likely to get follow back. This will be worth money. There will be no benefit of having thousands of followers with no response once in a year.

  • Never spend a single penny to buy Twitter followers. From my experience, these sites are usually trying to scam you by bring bots and spammers to your Twitter page.

Even if the service is real, you won't be able to get a lot of targeted traffic and audiences interested in your topic. Twitter can help you build your branding, but that doesn't mean more followers can bring you more sales conversions and more money.

If you don't have a target audience that is interested in your Tweets, nobody is going to hear them and the number of followers is just a symbol that does not make a difference at all.

Instead, spend a bit more time building your list of followers that are in your own niche. You can start off by following other businesses in your niche and increasing your followers gradually. It's slower, but remember, QUALITY is always above Quantity.

Why do so many people try to circumvent the system and think that's an okay thing to do? I mean, come on ... how in the hell would buying followers help besides fulfilling your own ego fantasies.

It's no wonder PayPal and other companies scrutinize so heavily. Because theirs an internet full of morons trying to make a buck doing nothing but trying to cheat the system even if it's illegal, against terms of service or some other law. Just because it's the internet doesn't make it okay.

    In my opinion,
It's about 10% click on your link on twitter
and it'sabout 10% people who clicked stay on your page.

It means that, if you have 1000 followers, you have 10 people maybe read your contents.
But after reading, they decide to buy your product or leave comment OR NOT. It belongs to your writing.

So, buying followers is a long campaign.

If you have a long plan, i think you should buy if that twitter account has 10.000 followers.

i think it depend on your purpose, in my opinion it is fine to buy twitter follower IF you just want to attract real followers to your account. I personally prefer to follow people with many follower than just a small number of followers. The best way to make money with twitter is building solid
accounts with real followers who are interested in what you say/share. You must provide quality information and communicate with your follower.

I doubt those Twitter followers last very long. I think a better plan is simply to create an account for each site you own and follow people who are going to follow back. It'll take a while and 5 minutes a day to build up, but the bots will find you eventually anyway.

It is essential to have a active looking account to begin with so buying followers is great, just dont expect them to tweet back!

Yeah in my opinion if you are trying to show poplurity buying followers is great, but this is also a little miss leading.
I was told that you can buy followers but it did not mean they were following? I am no expert though so... either way good luck.

No do not buy twitter followers especially when you can create them pretty quickly and keep them targeted to your niche and do it on auto -pilot. Use something like Tweetadder to help you. To me that is worth buying.

What I understand is that if you have less followers than you are following, then you are not able to get past a certain number of followers (either 1,000 or 2,000, I forget which it is). So you may want to just buy like 1,000 followers so that it appears that you have more followers than following, so you can get past that hurdle. It's part of the Twitter application logic that's built in and buying your first 1,000 is a way to get past it.

I would not recommend buying followers again it is not a good practice it will do more harm than favors. Best to stick with hard work follow people they will follow back if you adding people in your own niche.

Please save your money, and DON'T buy your followers, most are either fake or disinterested in serious things such as business most of the time

    In your regard,

I think that buying followers from trusted sellers on sites such as SEOClerks can be useful especially if you are trying to establish your profile. There is no faster way to gain many followers other than that for such a short time.

Buying followers for your twitter account is short term goal to get benefit. After a period of time these followers are expired and this is the negative impact on your account. So all the followers should be real. Buying followers is useless and waste of money.

It's not as noticeable with Facebook, but people will expect some kind of engagement from your followers. If you're sitting on 10,000 followers and hardly ever get retweets/favourites, it can seem quite fake.

Similarly, if you've only tweeted 5 times and got 10,000 followers, it looks a bit spammy as well, and would actually put me off dealing with a company.

Sorry I beg to quite defer on this opinion my friend. There must be a reason top celebretees, politicians who are famous secretly indulge in this. If they do then there must be some advantage with doing it. Most of them keep increasing their followers endlessly this way. I personally have come to notice the bigger any of our account gets, the more the interactions on the growing account. People love big things. Join the party boyfriend!!
