Hi Warriors - I am wondering if anyone is making money with Pinterest. If so, can you please share some info? Are you using automated tools?

Thanks!
Jim

There are some tools that can help you, sort of. The services that offer repins are like getting backlinks to your existing content.

But you have to create that content first. I do make money, but I view Pinterest more as a resource for getting my products noticed rather than direct money from Pinterest clickthroughs.

Some people are claiming to be making bank with pinterest.

I need to get around to testing it myself, but my main reason for putting it off isthat I can't see how you are going to get traffic to your pins.

And I think conversions will be low as it's a social media network that seems to be made of window shopping women.

But I still need to test.

One of the ways to get traffic is to upload the images form your computer and assign them the URL you want. And I suspect that many of the images that get traffic have a CTA on them, and a lot of people don't want to spend the time to add that to their images.

Mostly Pinterest is setup to make money through SkimLinks for the owner when people click on images without a URL attached.

JMichaelZ, I have an online store that I am trying to sell skateboards, some clothing and accessories from. Since the penguin/pandal scandals, I have not been able to generate any sales/visitors to my site so I thought, okay, maybe Pinterest. I just don't have any idea how to implement it. I have great pics on my site...what next?

        Thanks!

I do make money from pinterest but not directly. I use the site to send traffic to my blogs where I earn from advertisers and affiliate links. To be honest, I don't know that pinterest will work for anything other than women's products. I haven't tested any traditionally male items such as skateboards and I rarely see anything on the site outside of women's clothing, home goods, decorating tips, exercise tips, inspirational quotes, cute animals, recipes and hair and makeup tips. Spend some time looking around pinterest, I'm not saying you shouldn't give it a try but look at the site to get a feel for the visitors. It just might not be right for your products.

I know a few of my friends sell affiliate products on P-Interest.. But I personally haven't gotten into it.

In my book it's good for branding your own blogs or products etc; In my mind any shady spamming tactics will be short lived.

(But, a few of my friends have proven me wrong so far).

    Try it for yourself?

Pinterest is great way to generate traffic to your store jharri.
Just post your images regularly. But expect low conversion.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

I was making some little money by pinning and repining. At first i tried to use images linked to some clickbank products or CPA, but to make sure i would earn at list something i tried to use Adf.ly links and noticed they are banned on Pinterest so i used bih.cc (adf.ly clone) and made money on clicks, while couldn't make decent money on products i was trying to sell. I guess you have to target females with your sales on Pinterest

Actually, judging by a promotion that recently came my way, just as with Facebook, the bulk of hte money to be made with Pinterest is what's sold in the WSO section.

I'm not being cynical, as Sarevok mentioned it's really best used for drawing attention and brand-building more than anything else.

  • I use it, but without any expectation of conversions. In my experience with multiple Pinterest accounts related to my niches, Google likes Pinterest like it favors other social media participation. In some cases my Pinterest boards out rank my sites in search results.

I Go into Pinterest with an SEO mindset and consider it another means of creating backlinks, traffic, and social influence. Using Pinterest and a decent Pinterest widget has helped my rankings on at least 4 niche sites I run.

Agree. Treat Pinterest as a support for our site, not a main source of money.
What I learned is, we treat social media with false mentality, which is, how Im gonna make money in a fastest way using this? Me, me, me. And most of us got dissapointed with the results.

If we learn how to give people what they want/ need, we'll make money. To me its important to think how people think, what do they want. Feed them. Give, and it will be given to you. But thats just my opinion

In my opinion, for direct affiliate marketing the best network is still Facebook. Linkedin, Pinterest and others could be useful to drive traffic to your blog...or maybe in the future...but right now Facebook still dominates.

I have one blog that I realized was getting some decent traffic (I had literally kind of forgot about it). I noticed it was earning some $$ with Adsense and so of course, I've been posting more and trying to tweak it. Guess where the bulk of the traffic comes from... yep, Pinterest Followed by organic traffic, but most is just from Pinterest alone.

Pinterest can be great as a marketing resource, but I don't know if I would say it is a great source for making money directly

I use Pinterest quite a bit, but I have to say I haven't received a whole lot of traffic from that site for some reason. I put a lot of my blog posts on there along with other pictures that I post on my blog from time to time. I'm still trying to figure out what I need to do to really get the referral traffic moving.
