How I got 10,000 new likes to my Facebook page in 7 days

Don't worry there is nothing for sale here, I'm just going to show you exactly how I got 10,000 new likes to my Facebook page in 7 days. (I actually have 17,000 fans now, but 10,000 in 7 days just sounds cooler Lot's of of you struggle getting new likes to your Facebook page so I thought this would be helpful to go over exactly what I did to get 10,000 new targeted likes to my Facebook page. To be honest I'm pretty amazed that this started happening to my page because I really didn't do anything out of the ordinary so if I can do it anyone can do it.

Here is exactly what I did:

1. First I picked a niche to go after. The one I decided to go after was Labradors because there wasn't really a lot of Facebook pages that were really good that specifically talked about Labrador retrievers so I created a page that I called "I love labradors"

2. I went on Fiverr and had someone design a Facebook cover for me and. He did a really good job - I just said "create a cover photo for me with cute pictures of different colors of labs" and that was pretty much it. My Facebook cover photo is better than any other on any other page that I could see.

3. So after I got the cover photo created, I posted about six pictures of labs that I could find from Pinterest. And for each photo I put things like "like me if I'm cute" or "isn't this lab adorable?!" and then I just posted them so my page about five or six different posts.

4. Then, I created two different ads with two different pictures. The Facebook page is about labradors so I took two pictures with two different lab puppies that were really cute and they weren't hard to find because labs are super cute anyways. For my ad I put a red square around the Facebook ad, so it was very faint line but it stood out on Facebook's white background.

5. I put $100 maximum on the ads and then just let the ads run. Within about seven days I had about 1000 maybe 1400 fans. The ads were running on cost per thousand and not click because I think I got a lot more fans for a lot more money.

6. Now here is the most important part of the strategy. What I did was I scheduled four posts a day for the entire month of October. Facebook makes it really easy to do this so because of their scheduling capabilities, so it took me about two hours to put in four posts a day in. After I spent two hours the rest of the month of October was taking care of. This part is really important so pay attention to this: I schedule the posts for 8 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, and 5 PM. Now these are Eastern standard time so keep that in mind.

Attached to this thread is one post that got over 5,700 Shares (That's more fans than I had at the time!)

7. Now after the ads stopped running my "likes" went down for a little bit so I was getting about 17 to 40 likes per day. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere I started getting about 1000 - 2000 likes per day. I had thousands of likes per photo, I had hundreds of shares and hundreds of comments on almost every photo that I posted. It was incredible. I didn't post any affiliate links, or ads to monetize anything (which I think is important), and I responded to a few messages, and I only went out and did about 30 or 40 wall jacking likes (which is where you go to other pages about labs and like other people's comments.)

Now, I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anything. That's exactly what I did. I've had about 100 new Likes
It's in the process of writing this short post!

So for those of you trying to get new likes to your Facebook page, it's possible. For a local market it may be a little more difficult to do, but if you pick the right images and you post at the right times then you shouldn't have any problem.

If you have any particular questions please let me know I'd be happy to help any of you do the exact same thing that I did.

- Aaron

There's a few ways I'm going to do this:
      1) post affiliate offers that have to do with pets. I have some great offers for discount dog toys and CPA offers that I'm going to promote on a weekly basis.

      2) build a list from my facebook page. Facebook can take my page down for any reason they want, so by creating a list I have full control. Then I use that list to send stories of lab owners, pictures, etc and promote other relevant offers to my list that I think will help them.

I think one of the big secrets here is that I'm not thinking all about the "money" right now, and how to make money off these people. I'm bulding a relationship first, building a community, then providing relevant offers that will help them. I'm going to promote an offer this week and I can almost guarantee I'll make at least double what I've invested so far.

you will soon realize that simply because a person likes a dog breed, they don't necessarily have the said dog and won't be buying dog toys online.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I like cute dog pictures and don't even own a dog!

Still, I suppose it's a numbers game - the more followers you get the more likely it is that some will have the said dog and want to buy stuff.

It's a good post and certainly food for thought. I've never really bothered with Facebook marketing but there's obviously alot of potential there.

As an update to this post, I wanted to report that I have recouped my $100 investment. This may not be a big deal to many, but I know have a page with over 47,000 targeted fans, an email list with over 2,000 subscribers and a wealth of knowledge and experience to boot. Sure I'm not making a ton on this page, but I'm not giving up and will continue to test out things and I GUARANTEE you that I will make money with this page.

True. The first 1,500 fans were not free, but the 10,000 fans in 7 days I did not pay a cent for. I might add that I have 17,000+ fans now, so I was just focusing on the 10,000.

Yeah, you are right. Not completely free. Nothing is really free, no free thing in Freetown, even Freedom is not free.

But, so far, it's a great idea.

A Facebook fan page 'LIKE' is only as good if that like interacts, shares, etc. Otherwise its a wasted number. I'd rather have 1K interactive fans than 10K that don't even check out the posts etc.

Exactly. You could easily buy 10,000 fans from fivver or SEO clerks, but they don't mean a thing. I see tons of Facebook pages with over 50,000 fans and no interaction! What makes my page so valuable is that every one of my fans is an active and contributing member to the community. I get 100s of photo submissions a week from people BEGGING me to put their dog on my page! I literally don't have to find any more content - they send me the content and I repost it, then they thank me for it.

Love your signature by the way - that mindset is key to being truly successful

I agree with you 300SMG.... a fanpage with more than 5000 likes is completely worthless if it cannot provide you at least 1 percent "posts likes". Can you imagine a facebook page with 10k likes but the comment section is deserted? a post/photo viewed by 8000k people, yet you get less than 10 likes? useless, is in it?

Not to discount the original post but I have to agree with the quoted post here. While I appreciate the step by step method on how you did it, the Like is just a stat. As long as your ultimate mission was to get your posts to go viral this isn't a bad plan. $100 or not. We all will eat costs and make sacrifices, but just have a plan at the end of the tunnel.

This! Also thanks for sharing the method! Super useful information! We can look at it this way, spend $5 and get 5k fake likes or spend $100 and get roughly 1k real people who interact with your content and let it grow naturally. I'd prefer the 1k real people

      Thanks!

Wow! Very useful info, thanks for sharing! Actually, a while ago I tried a bit similar approach with my FB fan page. I checked from my stats from which countries I get most visitors and lowest bounce rates. I noticed New Zealand and South Africa were among those. They were not the cheapest but cheaper than USA, Canada or UK, which I previously had targeted in my ads.

Well, I just got a few hundreds of likes during a couple of days (with $5 daily budget), but it has been clearly better than before when I got just a few likes per day. Next I might try some of those countries you advised.

This niche is way oversaturated now.

There are thousands of dog pages on FB. They got all the low lying fruit already, which means FB ads are going to cost you a lot more now and the fans you get are going to be worth much less.

            Why?

            1. Most of the dog owners have been advertised to relentlessly by other pages. That means your CTR will be very low now and your cost per like very high.

            2. The fans you do get are going to already be following a lot of other dog pages, including labs. So, now your page will have much less interest in it than before because along with your posts are posts of all the other "cute" dogs in your fans' news feeds.

            3. Fans are bombarded with "email signups" and products from other pages. There are many dog pages out there with 500,000+ followers that are bombarding their fans every 15 minutes on FB. By the time you post your marketing stuff, the fans have become blind to it all.

            4. You won't make enough to overcome your time+costs. Dog products are not expensive. Plus, most of the stuff people get from their local store anyway. So, your measly affiliate commission on a $10 product is not going to justify the thousands you spent in FB ads.

            5. Fans only see 10% of a FB page's posts. Yup.

Look at OP's breed, labs. They are a gazillion lab pages now. It's like that all over FB. Pick a new niche for sure.

Here is page one of a FB search for labs to give you an idea of the oversaturation:

And here is the beginning of the search for Pitbulls. Notice two pages are over 1 million likes.

You miss the point. This thread isn't about the Labrador niche.

It's a method that can be applied for other purposes and is very useful.

No you missed my point. I'm not talking about his method in general. I am talking about the niche he mentions. I am warning others about it before they try to copy him.

And btw, the reason he was successful - and I use the word "success" loosely because what matters is profits not how many fans you have, and he has yet to show any substantial profits - anyways, the reason he was successful is because the niche wasn't oversaturated back then. Apply his method to most niches, which are in fact overstaurated now, and you'll spend a lot time and money with little profits to show for it.

      This and this:
      There are a few reasons:

      1) I chose a niche full of passionate people (Labrador Dog Owners)
      2) I posted 4 times a day (at the intervals I suggested)
      3) Being persistent. What I didn't mention in the post was that I previously started a page for the iPhone that got 1,500 fans (which I spent $200 on) and that completely plateaued. But I learned from that mistake and tried it again.

I haven't tired this strategy. My facebook like is growing everyday with paying for ads. I think the best way to increase your facebook like is through going viral. Find a way to encourage people to like your page and if they could also help share your facebook page link. Keep updating your page with useful content that would engage your visitor, so that they can be able to share the content. You would be so surprise the amount of like you would get with the first few days. I have tried it and it works effectively for me....

Yes but had you not paid for those initial fans you would currently have zero fans. The paid fans is a very important part of the equation.

So "completely free" is completely untrue. Without spending money you would NOT have those 10,000 fans.

Just the fact that war room "veterans" would even argue as true or untrue is a little weak to me. Great value added by Aaron. I'd say that once you have that initial 1,000 - 1,500 likes, this strategy will work FOR FREE as outlined. For those who don't have that, he's outlined a non-free way to get it quickly.

I totally agree. I'e paid for like and subscribers for clients on FaceBook. It seems once you start the ball rolling with paying for likes or subscribers, it continues to organically rise after the initial paid campaign is over. From there you should start to actually gain attention from those who are truly interested in your topic.

It does have to be a niche that holds weight. That is the only way it can honestly work. Picking Labradors was an excellent way to go micro-niche as well. There are TONS of niches out there that have gain massive attention. Just have to pick one. :-0)

This is very easy. I did this lots of time. There are lots of sites those would give genuine likes. All you need to do is to register with one of those sites. You would get as much as likes as you want. All of those like are genuine. So, don't worry about that.

Register at which sites? Do you have a list of them? Are they free?

I was going to try his system to see if I could get similar results. If you have a list of sites that dish out "likes" than I'll put aside time tonight and do it, then report back here as to how well it does.

    - Aaron
    Thank You Aaron...

I will try this at next time...

I built a website of nearly 100,000 likes on Bruno Mars - made about $7!

Focussing on building a FB page of likes for no other reason of seeing how many likes you can get for under $10 is the wrong mindset for proper internet business man.

By all means build fb pages where you are talking to a niche which has a problem which needs solving etc and you can offer a solution to that problem and build a rapport with those fans.

Asking people to click "Like" if they love bruno mars, small dogs or Prince Harry is not exactly fitting in with this plan

That is very disappointing that you didn't make very much money from your page Sarlat. But discarding a strategy because you tried it once and didn't make any money is also not the right mindset for a proper businessman. While it is true that building a community around a problem that needs solving is effective, so is building a community around a topic that people are passionate about. I'm interested to know, what offer we're you planning on promoting for a page about Bruno Mars? Perhaps the offer you promoted wasn't the right type of offer for the target. And if you build the page with the sole purpose of making money, and that is your end goal, I don't think you'll make it in Internet marketing period. Think about your target first, provide them something of value and care about them, and the money will come.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at this page if you don't mind sharing the link..

You may find yourself hitting a road block with this scenario shortly.. The problem I see here is you havent sold to your fanbase yet and if I had to guess that a large section of that 15k fan base is going to run a mile the second they see you trying to sell em on anything...

My advice to anyone building a selling fanpage platform is to sell em right from day 1, you'll likely get less likes but this will be replaced with more interaction from more targeted leads and it helps build in the mindset that hey I want to interact with you and build a relationship just dont freak out when I post a sale k.

I've mentioned this before but a page with 15k likes and 100 people talking about it will never be as successful as a page with 100 fans that has 150 people talking about it.

Awesome thanks for the tip man. I've considered this as well - I've created a persona on the site that interacts with the audience, and tried to build a relationship. I don't want to come off as fake when I promote a CPA offer or other relevant product that I know they would like, even though I have waited to do it. I'm promoting my first offer today at 5. Here is the post:
It's Halloween! How cute is this?! Thanks Nikki!

(picture of a cute lab next to a pumpkin)

I think this might be too fake and spammy. Thoughts?

On a side note, I have "23,889 likes and 586,693 talking about this". That ratio seems pretty solid.

If you go to Facebook and search for "I love labradors" my page will come up near the top - I have 23,000 likes.

Page looks good, lots of interaction there.. I'm going to kick myself for saying this (not an email marketing fan) but you should consider pushing sales to an email format and keep the page $sign free.. Find ebooks related that you can give away for free, or write your own.. Now and then drop posts along the lines of..

Found this free ebook on the internet... etc etc
        <-- insert ebook link -->

Keep the page strictly social apart from random links to more free ebooks which just happen to pass through your list building service, market to those that end up on your email list using CPA products and you have yourself a nice little evergreen business..

      1. No differently to how you would build an email list via a website, which is really what a fanpage is, a webisite.. offer a free report via an optin list..

      2. Postcron is a popular app, It works as suggested.

1.You can create a app that allow people to opt in your email list if they wish to know more about your company and product. Beside that some people even use free gift contest and request them to opt in email list and stant a chance to do it .

    2. I been fed up with the scheduled post by Facebook which i prefer use third party app to schedule it . I been tried few time which the schedule post do not show the picture I upload. It only able to show text status and even poll status unable to schedule .

I use a similar approach. I avoid direct selling and aim at peoples emotions ... if you put an add up saying Buy My Products people will respond a little, if you place an add saying Like if you love some emotional benefit of my product ... that works!!

You can also find qualified prospects using clever adverts. So let's say you are looking for moms to sell your comsetics too. Instead of saying 'buy my products mom' ... if you run ads saying stuff like 'I am a hardworking mum and beautiful ... click Like if you agree' the response rates rocket plus your costs per click go down.

I have run campaigns where I bought tens of thousands of clicks for pennies and hit over 50k people in a week

    Yay Facebook

I run an SEO Business based in the UK (it's not hard to find out which one) and regularly use Facebook to get new customers - using Facebook Offers works for us, we put out an offer for those signing up on new SEO contracts, and targeted it to existing fans or the category Small Business Owners (superb category) -tons of offer claims, post likes, and most importantly at least 8 enquiries. Hope that helps!

Aaron has some good ideas here and one in particular I'm going to try. Paid ads are going to be the norm if you want to monetize FB. They are on a drive to bring income up because of their stock price drop. Just the fact that you BOUGHT the ads will be a help. I've come to realize that (for me) the best way to boost likes/fans is just stay the course, add good RELEVANT content, and be patient..

I do the same thing every month for client I have. I updated her wall with pictures from interest for her niche every day. After my campaigns slowdown, a pause my ads. I take a look a the page analytics for the posts, then I sort the posts by people talking about this since the last time I ran the ads is the time. then I go to the power editor that Facebook has an eye duplicate the pause dad's and I make them for the posts were the pictures is the new ads that are running old list of like 20 of them doing things in the next day I see which ads had the highest click through rate I pause the rest and then I run the ones that perform very well as optimized instead of manual bidding. As will bring in about 1000 or more likes per month on autopilot allowing you to have a lot of clients and do this for each of them or something similar depending on the client.

    - Aaron
And after that, every post you update only 7% of the liker will see it. You need to pay another $ to bump your post

I like quick response from my marketing effort, this method is not for very quick result.

    Problem with facebook marketing is:

Number One its only work for certain niche.

Number Two Its takes a lot of time to get return on investment.

Number three People on Facebook are there to entertain mood not buying mood.

and obviously the intention is to make money not getting 'likes' or 'fans'.

This truly is a great way to get the ball rolling on your FaceBook fan page. It's also a great way to build a list and start to funnel your fans into it. I hope you're following the 90% - 10% rule so you won't overwhelm the people on the page with nothing but sell, sell, sell.

Micro-niches like this usually hold pretty heavy weight. I think this is a good strategy. I know people are harping on paying for the ads. It sounds like it paid off for you and the rest were free after the initial campaign ended. I've seen it happen with my clients so i know it works like that. I say keep up the good work and try it with another aweseome niche and share the results! :-0)

Part of the initial strategy is buying fans. That was OK in the beginning, but you have to be very careful with that now. FB is gunning for people who buy friends/fans and they have openly stated that if they catch you they will close you account! All the social sites are doing this now. I had a Pinterest account closed for spamming, I suppose because I repeated the same ads too many times. I also used Tweet Adder for 3 of my 4 Twitter accounts. I got 84,000 followers and then Twitter closed THREE of them and won't back off. Social sites are on the war path, so use much caution with buying fans/followers...

I really don't get why alot of people are so taken back that OP spent $100 to get 14 or so thousand AUTHENTIC targeted likes. The problem with getting likes from fiverr is that most of the time those likes are from random (and even sometimes fake people)

If he was able to spend 100 bucks get 1500 likes initially and organically from those 1500 grow to 14,000 I'd say that's pretty dern good and his page has very high potential to be monetized with at least a decent return earning more than his investment.

    Just my two cents

Also like to thank op will definitely be trying this soon and adding some twists/extra hoohah.

True but the bad thing is that a lot of times they won't give you targeted, interactive, REAL fans & likes.... many people on Fiverr (not all) provide likes from a mass of fake accounts. So you could buy a gig on fiverr for 500 likes, but may not really do squat for your page except give the impression that your page is something big & special.

From original post: "The ads were running on cost per thousand and not click because I think I got a lot more fans for a lot more money."

Here's what I see when I scroll down to pricing:

    Optimization:
    - Your bid will be optimized to help you make users more engaged with your post given your budget
    - Optimize for clicks
    - Optimize for impressions
    Pricing:
    - Cost per click (CPC)
    - Cost per thousand impressions (CPM)

    Which do I select???

I think that it is important to focus on getting quality "likes". It was mentioned in the thread that 1000k interactive likes are more valuable they one time visitors.

Although something to consider is the sheer volume factor. With 10s of thousands of likes you are getting high volumes of traffic and the interactive ones will emerge.

I think this would be worth a split test on a page with lower likes and built through a slower process of interaction and a page built on speed and volume likes.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I agree $100 for 1000 likes is a lot of money.
I also just started a fanpage for golden retrievers. The page is called Golden Retrievers Forever. The ad went live at 9am 21/01/13 and it's now 4.38pm 22/01/13. I am currently at 911 fans and I only spent $30 on CPC. Great interaction among the fans and myself. I built a website which is linked to the page giving info about retrievers as well as links to training products from clickbank & commission junction, an online store linked to amazon, also optin form which got 10 subscribers on the first day. The fans are providing 90% of the content, I just tell them to "Like", "Share", "comment", "post your pics" etc
I budgeted $100 dollars for this campaign. My CPC bid started at .22c per click but now I am paying .02c per click just targeting golden retrievers. I have budgeted $10/day which should give me 500 likes per day. I will stop the ads at $100 and see where it goes from there.
BTW an exact search on google keywords for "Golden Retriever" gives low competition with 450,000 monthly searches. I'm definately going to stick with it

I don' think it is allowed to sell your Facebook pages. However, you can post someone's ad on it by contacting businesses related to what your Facebook page is about .You can show them how many likes and followers you have and get them to advertise on your page for monthly fees.

Or else you might try to promote affiliate products to your subscribers in order to make some cash.

I think you would need to sell off your whole Facebook account. I don't think you can sell just one page. If you want to sell the whole FB account, you might try listing it at Flippa.

    Hi,

    great share!

Localleadsguy; now you have a list of 2000 subscribers, are these subscribers from these 10.000 fans you have got for free?

And do you monetize your list now? A list with 2000 subscribers should be worth $1500-2000 every month.

After spend $100 for the first 1500 fans, the rest is easy and go viral itself when you post 4 times a day on facebook?

Do you share other fans pages ,photos or you make comments on other fb groups, or your photos go viral itself ?

I think it is good telling people your strategy and what you did, but it seems like all for nothing. You have 17,000 fans for something you are not really interested in and or could monetize. I could do the same thing start a page about liking ice cream but where does that get you besides a $100 in the whole?

Thanks for the information, seems likes a great strategy to get likes. As far as business goes I do believe that you have to have a monetization plan to what you do because that is the point on being in business. One thing that I have found is that paid ad has alot more success as far as purchasing. I may be doing things wrong since I am defenilty not a social media expert. However I do make all my money online and have for severals years and one thing that I have found is that some peopl eare spenders and some are not. So dedicate the time nurturing those that are going to support you. Also do what you love, so if you would do it wether you got paid or not than you are in the right field. I do love what you are doing as strategy and I think that it can get translated to other niches. Thanks for sharing

I do this every day, but it's defiantly and investment both in time and money.
The niche is pretty key to success as a un-interesting niche with a lot of interest can still fail simply because there is little to no content to post, or not enough to keep people looking/reading.

Nobody should really use promoted posts because you pay Facebook money to get some likes,

but then for those likes to see your 1 message, you must pay again to Facebook,

and for your next message again you must pay to Facebook and so on...

Every time you want your likes to read a post , you must again pay to Facebook

That's why so many business are moving from facebook to Twitter
