I spend $50 but didn't receive a single sale I was using PPC and got not more than 30 clicks but the sale stands @ zero...

I read somewhere that more than 60 Percent of Facebook ads clicks are Fake is that true.

Is there anybody who has made money out of facebook? If Yes I would really appriciate little information about your strategy.

So, you use facebook ads? I would suggest Adwords instead of fb ads because most of the ads were shown to those people who are interested because they SEARCH on those keywords.

What exactly where you advertising? How were you targeting? What are your expectations? Honestly 30 clicks and no sale is pretty standard fare, the FB ad conversion rate hovers around about slightly less than 1% on average from memory.

How many ads did you run? Did you test the image? Did you test the copy? When I run Facebook ads for clients I make sure to run at least 2-3 ads at all times to see what works best. And by the way, $50 is not a lot in PPC. I know money is money, but generally the clients I work with spend at least $100-$200 to start seeing some results.

IMHO You need to spend that much on any PPC campaign just in testing, by the time you test splits etc, otherwise your just shooting in the dark.

        Softproducts,

There is no one right answer to this, because the dollar amount varies between clients. I have a jeweller who makes $10K on an average sale. Compare that to another client who sells beauty products for $20-50 per product and you can see that Facebook ads is not a one set solution.

You have to specific your target group first.

Tracking is required to help you know what's working and what not.
    I use prosper202, It's Free.

After you get a data, and know which ad work, which one is not.
You can cut loss and gain the profit.

But If your offer cannot convert after reach 100-200 clicks (depend on your strategy)
    change the offer.

Basically, you need to run multiple version of FaceBook or PPC Ads to optimize impact of your Ads. There are many things to consider when you're placing ads like:
    Relevance:
When a user types in a specific query, ideally, an effective ad would be 100% relevant for the query. So, for instance, if I search for red running shoes, I should see search results for red running shoes.

    Call to Action:
The call-to-action here is a mix of the offering and "enter here," as the user has been told what they can win and where they should go to enter.

you are very much correct on the relevancy of traffic, Relevant and 100% targeted traffic is key for success.

On the same website I can getting visits through SE and getting a 1 sale out of every 10 visits.

Interesting enough and I do not see anyone asking this, what is your call to action ? Are you offering a free incentive to get them into your funnel and or newsletter, where you have residual marketing working for you through email marketing ? The problem with PAID search is that a WEAK brand typically forgoes any residual traffic benefit with paid marketing, since the visitor lands on your page, makes the decision to buy or not to buy ... the value proposition needs to be apparent, especially when asking for $$$$ or a sale ... FREE is a strong enough value, learn to use it and watch the sales build up once you have built credibility

It has been well published that the FaceSpace Ad program is not as beneficial to merchants as the GOOG program. This is due to many, also well known factors like: demographics, fake profiles, message dilution and such.

IF you really want to use FB marketing you are going to have to do the same thing you do when you want to use GOOG marketing:

    1. Find the right product or service that has a real market space.
    2. Find the right keywords people are using to find it.
    3. Build a site and optimize it as best you can around those keywords.
    4. Point a brand-able or/and key-worded domain at the site.
    5. Get Rank.
    6. Tweak it until it converts at the desired rate with generic search traffic.
    7. THEN you apply your budget for the Ad program and let it run.

Now this may be a VERY simplified explanation but it's what you have to do. A lot of people simply turn on the Ad program and expect results but that is not how it is done and you can't skip the steps in most cases if you want to use Ad programs efficiently. You can waste a lot of money if you do not do this in the right order.

Really?! Have you ever used FB? They aren't shopping at all. They are wasting time at work checking out pics of hot people of the opposite sex. That's what FB is there for - wasting time and flirting. Therefore, dating offers tend to do well, but I don't think you can run these any more on fb.

IMO FB is crap and it's expensive, but regardless you need more clicks. It depends on what you're running, though. If you are just doing email submits that payout $1.50, then $60 should net you several conversions. Since you mentioned sales I'm assuming it's something bigger and you get commission on a payment being made. The higher the commission the more you need to spend to test. I usually spend at least $100 before writing something off. With $60 there's just not enough data. Your next three clicks could be sales. But it could also be your targeting, landing page, infinite variables. It's hard to help without knowing more.

It's much better if you do SMM than PPC. PPC advertising is pretty much automated these days. If anyone read it in the news Google were question on the Adwords system for automated clicks. They are cash cows.

Or you could hire someone to manage leads for your services.

My Australian Client spent away 500 AUD for PPC advertising for their new iOS App and only converted 4. The App just cost $0.99. Very low ROI. So now we are doing SMM to promote his app.

If you'e going to be spending your money on Paid Traffic, especially facebook ads. Be sure to due the proper research. Too many marketers get hooked on seeing immediate results, just throwing some traffic at your squeeze page and seeing if it converts.

Doesn't work that way. Always remember also, your offer doesn't always fit the audience, you can create specific offers that fit's more with the audience. Also, paid traffic is harder to convert rather than email list traffic so you do need a good amount of traffic, but the right traffic. It's easy to watch your money disappear within hours.

FB marketing has been a disappointment for me as well. However I did make a little money. Go back and read your ad. Call to action OK? Have a friend or neighbor read the ad to see if it is inviting to them. Make sure there IS a market for what you are selling. Try something other than google keywords to get your keywords. How is your ON PAGE SEO? Do you have an exact match (or close) domain? When you go back over your ad, make some changes and TEST IT. Don't be afraid to try Google adwords, but be VERY careful and set daily limits. That is a lesson hard learned....

Facebook ads are supposed to be highly targeted. So if you accurately entered your product type, it would have been targeted to people who are interested in seeing/buying those items. However, there is never a guarantee with PPC, even on Facebook that you will make a sale.

Well here is what I found,
I myself was using Facebook PPC, spent a bit of money, no results. One day before Facebook went public General Motors have announced that they stop their advertising with Facebook because it does not work. One of the reason Facebook didn't pop on the day of its IPO, May 18th 2012, was because investors didn't believe that Facebook ads are effective. A proof of it not being effective is the fact that Facebook shares sunk to a low of $19, now Facebook is going mobile and they try to gain more money from mobile advertising like they never did. That did help to pop their stock that is about $31 a share at the moment.

With PPC, you're bound to lose money in the beginning. Each campaign needs to be tweaked and refined for strategy. I would actually recommend going through a PPC course - when I did, it literally changed my business around. I didn't rely on the crappy opinions of thousands of people on a forum (sorry WF, but there's only some people who know what they're doing with PPC here and for newbies, it is def hard to weed out), but I paid for a PPC course and it made all the difference

You gotta do a lot more than $50 to start getting results... 30 clicks is nothing, and Facebook isn't a place to shop - it's a place to socialize. Your conversion rates on Facebook will typically be less than 1%. You need to get *thousands* of clicks before you really have any measurable click data and test campaign effectiveness, not dozens.
