Facebook Accounts Question

Hey all,

I had a personal facebook account and then started doing IM and then decided i would do a business profile and so I set up another account with my same name on it and created all my fanpages on there but also have my personal account as an adminstrator for them as well. I am worried about getting shut down from FB (having two accounts is not legal from what i understand but I didn't realize that at the time) now my question is what should I do? Should I just shut down my business profile?

  • I have about 4 different FB accounts. I opened them up before I knew you could have multiple pages under one account. I was actually running FB ads to these different accounts using the same PayPal address and had one of my advertising accounts suspended. FB support hasn't been very helpful at all for me. But the rest of my accounts are still up and kicking with no problem. I suppose you could try to contact FB and let them know what happened and maybe they will be able to consolidate your pages/accounts.

  • If you want to create many accounts on FB, make sure that IP addresses of your internet connection will be different for each account. And diligent to clear cookies of browser that you use.
  • Move your fanpages over to your real account and close down that second account you created. There is no reason to have 2 accounts. You dont need to hide yourself from your fan pages.

  • If I were put in your position, I would shutdown my personal account and just create a new one because your business account is valuable for your business and it probably has an established fan base...

  • In my opinion, it is OK.There are many fake accounts with same name and profile picture on facebook. No spam and not reported by others, it will be fine.
