Do you outsource any of your social media marketing?
If so, which parts? what is most effective?

  • Hi CirclofDocs,

I work with an agency with over a hundred clients. We offer SEO and Social Media Marketing. I put our SMM program together and then set up the entire project to be run by an outsourcing team. I went to the Philippines and personally interviewed, hired, and trained our team to do everything including setting up client accounts for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, and Pinterest, designing custom graphics for each platform, creating YouTube videos and uploading/optimizing them, creating Facebook Apps ... and doing all of the ongoing management of the clients' profiles (Updating, Sharing, Tweeting, Pinning, Liking, Commenting, Posting, etc.) Our outsourcing team also does monitoring and reporting for clients. I trained them on all of the software we use from our CRM and reporting, to automation and auto-posting tools, to Facebook app software.

If you want to outsource part or all of your social media, it's definitely possible to manage effectively but I would advise you to be able to train your team on every step of your process.

  • Outsourcing is a little tricky, but if you can't do it all yourself, it's best to outsource. Where I find it tricky is in the interaction with followers. The person doing the marketing must have a good understanding of what your objectives are and your product/service.

The most effective is content. Take for example a FB page. A successful campaign will have people interacting with what you are posting. Frequency of posts is key, but understanding who is Liking your page providing content for that specific audience is of the utmost importance. That way when you post your promotional content the chance of conversion is higher. This is what a person must understand when you outsource.
  • No, we do our SMM campaigns all by our-self, we know our product/service, we know how to build up strategies, we know how to execute well and keep track of it. All is counted is the intention and willingness and others can't do well except the person who built up product/service.
