How do I increase my fan reach when I got 800k fans?

I'm doing all the right things I believe, posting images and stuff that people like, share, and comment on. I increased my reach to almost 419k when I got over 800k. That was election week too and posting related stuff to that. But, I read that facebook wants to charge us to reach and promote more of our fans. I mean, these are in fact our fans, that liked our page for free. Why should we pay to reach them all? I understand that facebook wants to increase their revenue but is it still possible to reach more of my fans without having to feed the facebook money? Am I doing the right thing by posting stuff that gets likes and shares?

    Yeah, but it might help if you go a bit farther to engage your users. Run a contest/giveaway where sharing the page with their friends gets them entered, or just simply ask them nicely to, maybe even explain why you're trying to reach the number you are after...

    Quality content is the most important factor to expand Facebook reach. Asking questions of your fans is a great way to encourage comments and keep your post visible. "Facebook wants people consuming content, so its algorithm rewards the brands that create the coolest content". if you have extra money to spend then paid reach to get more fans is also a way.

    I believe quality content is the best way to reach maximum fans on Facebook. But no doubt that it takes time to deliver results.
