How Have you used Linkedin? & how much success has it achieved

Here are somethings what we have done
  • Network with Like Minded People
  • Setup Meeting & Appointments
  • Finding Key people in industries to get appointments
  • Having Lunch/Coffee Meetings
  • Using Linkedin Ads to target individuals/Groups

Do you think its better for both B2B and B2C?

Thanks

LinkedIn is great for B2B and folks there are far more active IM-wise and as far as brick and mortar businesses are concerned. I hang out there more often than any other social networking sites out there.

        Darkside,

I'm doing Linkedin PPC and CPM and I'm paying right around $2 per click... which is high, BUT...

those clicks are converting at 48%

So almost half of the traffic that comes from those ads... opt into my sales funnel!

I'll pay $2 a click all day with conversions like that

LinkedIn is great for both B2B & B2C.

It is a great place to get noticed/sell your products and services (B2C).

But, it is also a great place to establish some JV partners (B2B).

Have you ever tried starting your own group in LinkedIn? IMO this is the best way to "advertise" via LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is a great resource for B2B. Start with importing your contact list from your email. Build your business page. Get your Social Signals all taken care of.
LinkedIn is great for search engine uses.

Trick (use at your own risk): LinkedIn allows you to invite someone to connect if they are 2nd level etc via certain processes. You are usually required to detail how you would know the person or identify some information like email address.

If you use your mobile app you can invite a large amount of people to connect with you. After some time you would be restricted by LinkedIn staff with your mobile account. Make sure you do your import before you use the mobile process. It allowed us to send out a good chunk of invites

Of course this is hypothetical :-). Just something I found that worked for some of our users as recently as September/October.

    1. Build a Network, Then Start a Group
Getting started with a LinkedIn marketing strategy involves two important steps, the second of which is dependent on the first:
    • Create a personal account and build a network of contacts. Reach out to customers with whom your business has a solid relationship – those who truly know your company and its products or services. Ask them to write recommendations for your company, which will appear in your profile. And don’t forget to ensure all employees are part of the network as well.
    • Once your personal account is setup, create a group for the brand. By creating a group for your brand, you’ll be able to maximize reach beyond your network. Within the brand group, you can start discussions, share news, post jobs and create subgroups.

LinkedIn is a great place to get SOCIAL PROOF of your skills. There are loads of half-assed programmers on oDesk, but if you want a good one, go on LinkedIn and SEE who they've worked for in the past.

Most of the business usually does have the habit of ignoring Linkedin and its huge potential. In fact Linkedin is the best professional networking site and if used in the correct way, it can become a major source for your lead generation and network growth.

LinkedIn is good for both B2B and B2C.

It has been a steady resource for client sourcing and customer sourcing (at least for my business).
