Squidoo: Still ranking?

Hey social marketers,
I missed the initial squidoo boom but does anyone still use it for leads/sales? I'm thinking of investing some time in getting some lenses created and want to see if anyone is still using it.

I can get them ranked on squidoo but will they rank in google?

    Yes, they are. Search on Google and they could rank pretty well and high PR. The key is to get Squidoo likes and other social likes if you could.

    yep, it's good for back linking but you can also rate pretty high on Google for long keywords

    Two of my Squidoo lenses continue to perform well, and make money each month. The topics aren't anything I wanted to build a website for, so that's why I went the Squidoo route. I imagine if I cared enough to aggressively promote the lenses, they would do even better.

      during the recent google update my sites suffered in rankings but my squidoo's are now in their place, so my sites still get the same amount of traffic....

      And because my squidoo's where only meant to be supporting sites the links to those sites are SPAMMY ... honestly.

    It actually is still working for some older posts. I'm not sure how well it will index with newer posts and with competitive keywords. What is you niche...If you don't mind me asking?

    Yes, you can still rank Squidoo lenses on Google. But it will take time and a quite amount of lenses to be listed on Google and rank up.
    You just have to do the following to let Google crawl into your site in a few weeks.
    - write a remarkable and highly-compelling content
    - use the right keywords for your lenses
    - keep your keywords in mind and use them throughout your lens
    - use anchor text in posting a link to a site or your lens
    - build DoFollow links and NoFollow links if you can
