Quiet some traffic from Reddit ... but is it qualified?

Hi guys,
I've this blog since two months that I'm trying to promote via Social Media about productivity and happiness (youeverysecond.com).
A few days ago and Today i tried out Reddit and submitted two links to it (one a few days ago, and one today). I got a LOT of traffic (compared to the rest of traffic i usually get) : i got like 200+ visits from Reddit today, when i usually get around 10 visits.

I set up my newsletter and a sign up form (below each of my post) just before submitting my reddit link ... so i was hoping for some subscriptions, at least one, to my newsletter.

But nothing. Most people stay less than 10s...

So
- is Reddit traffic unqualified? i submitted a link about productivity in a topic named productivity, so ...
- is my content/blog bad? here are some metrics from today so far, via getclicky.com : 238 visits, 256 actions, 14s average time per visit and 96% bounce rate...

Please i'd very grateful for some some insights, help, suggestions (if you check my website), ...

Thanks a lot!

Yeah, thing with reddit is that people come and leave. If you're a redditor, put yourself as if you were about to visit some random site. You would probably not sign up on some random emailing list.

    Hi,

I saw your blog. I think your blog lacks Images. You need to try give the visitors something interesting to see so that they would want to visit your website again. You can put images about Motivation, Productivity, etc. which would be more interesting than just plain text.

      Hi
Thanks for the tip, and thanks a lot for taking the time to check my site out. It's true that i don't have many images ....
It's not easy to find free images about motivation, productivity, etc ... apart from the typical images made out of Productivity and Motivation Quotes!
      I'll work on this anyway!
      Any other valuable tips?

I took at your site, and I noticed that you'in the same niche as me. In this case, definitely don't depend on Reddit for your main referral source.

One thing that I want to say is that I don't think your site is lacking images at all. In fact, my site focuses on simplicity. So much so, I don't even put more than one images per post anymore (I used too).

So I'd give you a thumbs up on the way your theme is. (plus the font and color looks good)

One thing I'd advice you to do is to add except in your post. In fact, do this as soon as you read my post. Make a cut off somewhere in your articles so that the homepage isn't bomb barred with words and etc. Also come up with some kind of logo or banner for your header.

Overall man, just keep working on your voice. My site didn't get anywhere until a about 15 months later.

Hi man! Thanks for the thumbs up, i really appreciate. I have low audience but having people supporting my work is always rewarding!

I was already planning quiet soon to add excerpt, and asked someone to design a logo/banner on Fiverr, so i think i read you mind - or you read mine!

What about "keep working on your voice"? What do you mean?! To keep pushing, and not lose faith and perseverance?

It's true that it's not easy every day... I hope i'll be patient enough to keep on working on my blog.

          Thanks!!

When I mean voice, I mean that you should be able to write in a way that your audience connects and understand you.

I mean, they understand you, but the question is, on what level of emotion?

Keep working at it bro. It'll be very discouraging at first, but keep pushing through.

Yes that's exactly what I want to do... I want to connect with them, cause I really think my ideas are worth sharing! I know it will take time but I'd like to create a community around my blog and my unique and genuine way of telling things...
English is not my first language so at the moment thats probably blocking me from being able to speak to other people on a higher level of emotion, but some practice and writing will help me improve, hopefully!

Thanks for the encouraging words!! Thanks a lot bro!!!

Probably, those visitors were not your target audience. That is the problem of social bookmarking websites - you can bring lots of useless traffic to your website. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it at all, here are some ways how to apply Reddit successfully 6 Ways to Use Reddit to Grow Your Business | Social Media Examiner But still you may concentrate more on SMM and SEO tools for effective blog promotion.
