Changing a Facebook Page name after 200 followers

Hi warriors,

I had a technical question for all experienced social media marketers.. I am aware that Facebook doesn't let you change the name of a page after you've acquired more than 200 followers.
My question is the following: Is it possible to lower the followers to meet the requirements and change the page name? Or does Facebook have a way of tracking that a page once had more than 200 followers and will prohibit it either way?

    Once you reach the threshold of 100 fans/likes you can pretty much do what you would like, not sure why you would want to decrease it at all?...

      The reason I was wondering if it was possible to decrease likes is because we are launching a new brand name and Facebook does not allow page name changes after you have more than 200 followers.
      I was wondering if it was possible to ask some friends and followers to unlike and then like again once the name is changed.

    First, to change either your page name or user name(url/domain) you can go to your page and click on "Manage Page" button at the top right.

    To change your page URL for most pages, follow these steps:

    Click on Edit Page
    On the drop down menu, click on "Update Info"
    Under "Basic Information" , you will see in bold: Username. Click the link: Change username. The "Learn more." link will tell you that you can only change the username once. That is not entirely true.
    To change your Page name, follow these steps:

    Under "Basic Information", you will see "name" in bold, under the Google map(for "local business" for your page business location. You can request a change.
    Give a reason for the change, either by misspelling or by business name change.

      Elfen, I will try this out soon and see if its possible even though I've exceeded the number of followers Facebook allows to change a page name.
