Viral Facebook Marketing tips?

Does anyone have any tips for viral Facebook marketing that actually works?

I have a science fiction book - 20XX on Kindle - and am after increasing its exposure, and hopefully its sales.

The fanpage is here http://www.facebook.com/20xxTheBook?ref=hl if anyone wants to take a look.

Would appreciate if anyone has had real success with viral marketing on Facebook if they could point me in the right direction or at a course with the information that actually works.

I agree with Anomalous, have a fan gated tab for an expert of your book,. Another thing that would work well is if you had a contest where someone could win a copy of your book. This would get you lots of likes if you also fan gated it.

Thanks for the feedback all - I will google how to do the fangate.

The question really is how do I/we create a viral campaign on facebook without spending a fortune. The only thing I can think of is coming up with something that encourages lots of likes or shares - but that something is rather hard to predict!

"That something" is quite easy to predict. Look at your personal facebook feed. What is getting thousands of likes/shares? Copy it.

For example... those word puzzle images with a few words hiding in rows and columns of seemingly random letters. Encourage people to share, and comment on the first word they can find. Make these "hidden" words specific to your niche... those seem to work well enough.
