Social Media Management using free tools

Hello, i just wanted to share something that i found its probably been mentioned here before but thought its such a cool thing to share if you missed it in a previous post.

Over the last few years I have found it a real pain trying to promote little ventures as I mainly used social media as a way of marketing. Having to update each social media account was a pain I found it real hard work.

There are lots of tools and services on the internet which allow you to easily manage all your personal social media profiles. They allow you to connect across Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Foursquare and Google Buzz to name a few enabling you to update all or just a few with the same status at one time. The only problem with services like this are they charge you to be able to link more than 'x' amount of social media accounts or charge you a monthly fee.

A few weeks ago I came across a fantastic service named IFTTT which is 100% FREE. Using IFTTT you can easily link all of your social media accounts as well as emails if you wish to and many other things.

Using IFTTT I can now easily manage many different social media accounts to promote things especially my instant site (affordable Wordpress website design and hosting).

Now all I do is post on Facebook and the rest gets done for me. I simply schedule messages on my Facebook page and then each time something new gets posted by the facebook scheduler IFTTT then shares the new post to my other social media accounts. An example how this happens is below

To enable me to publish to 8 social media accounts I have set-up recipes (rules like below) for each of my accounts.

My recipes do the following logic-

IF my Facebook page gets a new post THEN post it to Bitly.
IF my Bitly gets a new post THEN post it to Delicious
IF Delicious gets a new post THEN post it to Twitter etc..

Over the last few weeks i have not only gained followers, likes and re-tweets but have seen a real growth in my google analytics. This is a fantastic tool and could help save you and your business lots of money and time!
