Use your cover image to get your page more Facebook likes.

Put an image in your cover image of an arrow pointing to the Like button, with it saying Click Like.

You'll need to unlike your page while you do this to make sure it ends up in the right spot for non-fans.

If you got any other ideas for using profile/cover images to get new fans, post hem!

Here's an example...

This is good up to a point.

Once you hit 10,000 likes, FB will shut you down for having that arrow point to that like button.

I talked to a marketer that was doing that and FB contacted him saying he has to take it off or they will delete his page.

There are millions of Fan pages and would be hard to enforce this RULE FB has to all of them.

Nice Idea, but still seems a bit tricky. ALsthough the idea of the cover photo is an interesting one to get a lot of likes.

It is against Facebook terms of service and will have your page closed if they either see it, which is likely if you advertise, if you don't then you may get away with it they cant monitor everyone, but I can see a time when software could scan the pic and highlight it too them if seems suspicious.

The other thing is if a member of the public highlight or report the photo, like in this forum when people report posts as they go against terms, and is it worth the risk of that when business is concerned and a lot of effort has been put in, after all your competition is probably on there too so what's stopping them reporting if they see it.

Good to see people submitting advice but try make sure that its not against terms of service as if one person done this from this thread and had their page closed they not going come back on here too happy.

Facebook policies changed and you are not allowed to tell the visitors to subscribe.
I found a simple way around it.
Just list your Title describing your page, and your 3 to 4 benefits of the content you will be posting (yes, just like a landing site).
I've done tis with good results.

I think there is another better way to request e.g. "If you wanna get future tips, don't forget to Like the page" or something like that. Hope that it will have no ToS risk .

The best way to get more likes in a similar way is through Facebook apps that require users to "like" your page to perform a certain thing or participate in a sweepstakes or something like that.It doesn't really interfere with the Facebook policies or terms of use.

The OP is giving very bad advice. This is specifically against the Facebook terms of service seen here. There are many effective strategies for getting engagement from Facebook traffic and visitors to your Facebook Page, we use these strategies every day for our clients. But jeopardizing your Page for the sake a few likes is reckless and foolish. Be smart and give smart advice. And do your homework before you take someone else's foolish advice.

Are there any suggestions from anyone on the easiest and most efficient way to add this like button to a cover page?
I like (no pun intended) the idea but don't want to waste too much time figuring out it can be done.

Thanks in advance if anyone has a quick approach to this idea!

You can use woobox, it's a simple and free "kind of a plugin" deal that you just install on your facebook page and customize it.It is very easy to manipulate and that is what I'm using right now.I guess if you have special needs it would not really work that well, but for simple pages it gets the job done.

I can vouch for Facebook being frisky about this. I'll share something that I've personally used that works though.

I've gotten a freelancer to set me up with an image rotation system. It only shows the arrows 1 out of 10 times after 8000 likes. It has kept me off the radar several times.
