Get Facebook Likes: Host Contests or Prizes

If you are looking for a boost in your numbers, than this first point of the article is the one for you.

Your likes will be rolling in like the snow that falls.

Have a hosted contest on your Facebook page. The contest can have any prize that is related to your blog's topic.

No need for expensive prizes but one that will make your subscribers happy.

Then, ask them to like the page, share the post with their friends, and see the likes rolling into your page.

What are some ways you guys rack new likes on Facebook?

I would love to know!

I will not recommend addmefast.com at all! Why?
      For these reasons -
      - The likes are not real human, so they will never engage.
      - Most importantly Facebook can delete your page for using those 'Like exchange' site. I got my page (it had 1.2K Real engaging like) deleted while increasing like using addmefast.

Please try to stay away from any form of buying followers.

I'm pretty sure I get double facebook likes by giving something away in exchange for a Like, and they are people who are interested in my niche since the giveaway is related to my niche. So they also remain "Liking" my page You don't want people to like you and then unlike you when they get the freebie So the giveaway needs to be relevant to the rest of what you're all about.

I'm looking for a good way to get more FB fanpage likes for a B2B company. They want to give away their service for free to a company that gets them the most likes (kind of affiliate marketing). What kind of mechanism would be good for that? How can I keep track of which like came from where?

You can use promoted posts and quizzes. But yes, contests work really good. Also it's useful to include your FB page link to your mailing copy, signature, blog posts etc.

This strategy implies may questions. Do you need engagement or likes? Some companies participating in your tender can align their efforts with your long-run objectives and work in a close cooperation with your marketing department, others may simply buy likes and you may never know about it. It is less likely that paid likes will help. What is more, just a high number of likes without targeting, engagement and particular source is not likely to bring desired effect to a B2B niche, if to speak in general.

Thanks for the response. We would like to get some engagement. That is why the company also regularly posts stuff that are interesting in general, not just for their branche. I wonder how you can measure the amount of likes a company has referred to your page. Is there an option to do that?

Using social exchange site to get more likes to your FB page will not last forever, furthermore, the likes you got from this site are not targeted at all, although the people are real but again it's not targeted at all.

This also means the likes could be disappearing over night as these people who liked your page will only stay for 1-2 days the most and after that they're gone.

Offering free gifts, incentive coupon, bonus access to related product would engage more fans for your FB page.

Try to use FB ads to target the relevant groups and people.

Just some of my opinion, hope it helps.

      Your opinion is great man

The best likes out there are the likes that are targeted.

Targeting the right likes is all worth it.

Facebook ads are great for increasing your page likes.

Never buy likes as they are worthless, usually not real people and won't interact with your page, the only use is that they make you look more popular, but any real social media marketer will know they are not the be all and end all.

Personally I would take 100 like and a 1,000 opt ins to an email list than the other way round especially if the opt ins were targeted and or the likes were bought.

The fact is even with likes opt ins will reach a bigger percentage of your potential customers as Facebook posts don't reach a very large %, and also when you think of the numbers that are not so targeted and are not interested anyway you wont get very much engagement off them.

Opt ins however will get more opens as they will be in their inbox when they check their email even days later, and if they have been targeted then they are even more likely to be opened and acted upon.

Last time I bought likes to test the waters I soon found myself on the otherend of a Facebook update... That update was when Facebook shutdown millions of accounts due to inactivity or bots. My likes went from 2,000 to 100.

word to the wise - I've tested it and its failed.
Do not buy likes but simply offer an exchange of likes.
SEO isn't easy so why should getting real likes be any easier?

Not 100% true. Not all fiverr gigs are about getting likes on facebook. But the fake likes, yes, that's true. No point in those.

        Wow, thanks for sharing that!

Many of those likes are bots created by the masses.

Buying likes won't work since Facebook is right around the corner waiting to slap you with a penalty!

True, but most of the time they will allow your statuses go into their Facebook stream.

I can see them unsubscribing because you are spamming them or posting way to much.

Yes, contests are awesome, IF they are awesome. You have to have a decent number of engaged users before you host a contest. Plus, you have to have an interesting premise and a compelling reward to the winners.

Other ideas that work well is to ask interesting questions and post relevant/useful content. Also, access FB marketing and watch all the good stuff they provide for frizzle. Know what I'm sayin'?

What rules would you use for the contest? I was thinking something along the lines of "every like or share gets you an entry into the draw".

Also does anyone have experience with how contests compare to fb ads in terms of cost?

Edit: I see people are saying that is aginst fb's rules. What are these apps that are being mentioned?

Contests on the wall are against facebook's TOS. Many brands ignore this, big brands included but it can get your page down if someone complains . You cannot ask them to share or like your content for prizes unless you're using an app. Try EasyPromos - the first promotion is free. There are several others, Google will help you out.

That is an awesome idea. You should try to convince them to go ahead. I wish I had such awesome niches to work with. Local farmer's markets can be hot on social media. explore the trend of organic farming, share recipes, food relate stuff is hot!

For sure promotional actions like competitions, giveaways, random draws and actions that involve prizing your fans for theirs likes and participation is the way to go.

Please remember to use apps to do the competitions, otherwise it is against Facebook's TOS and bad losers can get your page in trouble for running competitions on your wall.
There are several free ones you can easily use that have like gates and lets your fans like and vote their way to the prize. Value promotions that are share material. That requires them to share the content among their friends.

I have run dozens of these for several clients and one thing I have learned which I believe is very useful is : it's not about the size of the prize always, it's about how easy it is for your fans to participate, how much fun they will have in the process and then, the prize.
I have run competitions offering a package of phones+tshirts+stickers for a music band have more engagement that another offering a trip for 2 to Ibiza on a liquor brand page.
The first one was fun and dynamic and fans had only to write a sentence and share it ( very easy) an the graphic images and copy that accompanied the promo as very upbeat and irreverent. Worked awesome. The second required that the fans took photos of themselves with a bottle of the liquor and fill out a big application form. We wanted their emails but we asked too much of them. Not many people applied: the copy was nice, the prize was awesome but it was too much trouble for the fans. Facebook is a fast place, you need to grab their attention fast or they will lose interest. There are just so much competition out there.

Of course, the way you promote and run the competition will have a high impact on engagement so make sure you have some nice copy to go with the promo actions.

    good luck

FB Ads give me a pretty consistent number of likes everyday. One of the more clever viral image shares I've seen was when the lottery was at a high amount one of the local radio stations bought several tickets, took a photo of them, and stated whoever shares this photo will share in the lottery winnings if these tickets win.
