Can't Follow in Twitter

Help! I cannot follow anyone in Twitter. I have not been able to do so for the last few days. Basically, I click the Follow button for the account and then it shows followed, but then when I do a refresh there person has not been followed.

The way that I follow is manually by clicking the follow button in twitter. I cannot even follow the people that are following me in Twitter.

Also, I have a large account with over 130,000 followers and I have about 450 less following than followers, so I'm not hitting any limit.

I am using Chrome. Anyone else have this problem? Did Twitter change anything in the last few days?

    Hi,
if you have done this is the last several hours, twitter was experiencing a few server issues it also effected the DM's.
Also you are reaching your follow ratio... If the follow ratio is less then 2,000 then you will not be able to follow any more people!

      Interesting.

One thing that I noticed: I was getting a lot of bot followers. It was these where nothing happened. So I think these accounts were getting suspended or something. When I went to one of my regular lists and did follows, that was working. I think there's a war between Twitter and the Bots...

Also, I've been doing the follow/unfollow thing for years, so I've got that down. I don't think there's an issue there.

Have you ever tried to contact twitter about it? In my opinion, if you would want to get things fixed asap, try reporting the issue to them. I'm sure they can sort it out for you. Maybe there's some problem on their end or whatsoever. I don't know much about this that's why I'm suggesting you take this issue directly to them.

Second XenG's suggestion. I've found twitter support to be very helpful and responsive in the past.

Have you tried switching to a Firefox browser and see it the same issue persists? Must be your browser not accepting cookies and stuff..

Well, I haven't had too much luck with Twitter support, but I just "submitted a ticket". We'll see what they say.

By the way, I tried Twitter Mobile, Chrome and I Explorer and none of them worked...

Perhaps this is a temporary limit on obtaining followers; while Twitter gets a handle on the new batch of bots coming into the site.
