You can boost your website traffic with the help of social media. Submit your website in Web 2.0 sites, promote your business/services in social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. Join groups in social networking sites related to your business/services & promote your services their. Mainly focus on LinkedIn & Facebook.

Hi,

For each piece of content on my blog I create a list of relevant words/phrases and then use BuzzBundle to monitor blogs/forums/social networks/answer sites.

When it finds a match I can just jump in and reply/offer help!

Here's my 2 cents...

If you use free traffic, it will take you months to get traffic from any social media site. BUT... if you use paid traffic, you can get targeted traffic within 1 week.

For Twitter - you can use Fiverr and have prominent Twitter users to tweet your link to thousands of people. Do not mass follow people, it DOES NOT WORK.
For Facebook - use Facebook ads, it's very cheap. I got mine down to $.01 per click (the key here is higher CTRs)
For Google+ - you can join Google+ groups but please DO NOT SPAM
Pinterest - it's a good platform to get traffic from, but it doesn't work for all marketing campaigns. It's usually special interest niches, like wedding, photography, etc.

You get traffic from the Social Media by making more friends and followers and the main social media sites are facebook, youtube, stumpleupon, friendfeed, tumblr, digg, Twitter, Myspace etc.

While networking and relationship-building takes time, it's a very effective way to keep your business and your content on the minds of people who might be interested in linking to you. Make a list of the bloggers in your industry who have authoritative and relevant websites. Then start building relationships with them. Follow and tweet with them on Twitter, and give them a little link love by linking to their content in your own blog articles. Once you're on their radar, they may be more inclined to link back to you if you have content that's relevant to their audience, too.

Sign up with LinkedIn and join some groups related to your niche. Invite as many people you can from those groups to connect with you.

Also sign up with Facebook and create an ad for your page. They'll email you a free $50 credit to promote it and it will get you likes.

You can buy traffic on social media sites facebook, linkedin, twitter... you can also buy sponsored ads so people tweet or post your ad to their followers or friends.
other way to get traffic is follow people who are talking about products or your niche..they'll follow back.. in your bio put website link. they'll click on it...

Hi there,

You have received a lot of good answers already. But I just wanted to say one thing, when you do use free methods on Facebook etc it is important that you provide good content. If you promote your offer all the time you will have a hard time getting friends and followers. I try to follow the 80/20 rule, 80% valuble content and 20% promoting my offer.

For facebook this 80% content can be funny videos, images etc.

Before dealing with that, it is important to know your niche first.. then start from there. You just want to get traffic from your targeted audience. It's true, social media can give you traffic but be careful with those free traffic...it's only temporary.

Well, though my answer is late but i am sharing my personal experience with you. To generate traffic to your website use facebook, twitter, Google plus as you mentioned you already have account on these sites, you can join your niche related groups on facebooks add relevant & impressive replies there. Join Google plus communities relevant to your niche and participate in discussions there. Use Stumbleupon and Pinterest believe me these two websites are generating a huge amount of traffic to a website.

I agree with the previous comments above. You need to plan your SEO campaign. Start by reading SEO blogs to know and get the latest tips and advice on SEO. I would also suggest you focus on building quality backlinks. Do a lot of content marketing, share your content in social media sites, then build backlinks in high ranking, authority sites.

There is no easy way in getting traffic especially if you are promoting a business. I am not an expert however if you ask me, in facebook I suggest you ask and send out messages to follow you. You can use like page and fan page so it will not cost u a cent. As for twitter follow and comment on their tweets so they will notice you. Send as many tweets too.

Your question is pretty general but when it comes to social media and networking its about building relationships and that takes an investment. I would start with a few networks to use and establish yourself on. Create a Facebook fanpage and a Twitter account -- brand both with images / headers, etc.

Start posting content, following and engaging people, interacting in the community, etc. Start with small steps.

You could even explore Facebook Ads or use StumbleUpon Ads if you have some funds and want to put in less time and effort.
