    For each piece of content on my blog I create a list of relevant words/phrases and then use BuzzBundle to monitor blogs/forums/social networks/answer sites.

    When it finds a match I can just jump in and reply/offer help!

    You have received a lot of good answers already. But I just wanted to say one thing, when you do use free methods on Facebook etc it is important that you provide good content. If you promote your offer all the time you will have a hard time getting friends and followers. I try to follow the 80/20 rule, 80% valuble content and 20% promoting my offer.

    For facebook this 80% content can be funny videos, images etc.

  • if you want to do it in free way, you can create some events or contest. these goes viral and in this way you can increase your traffic.
  • Before dealing with that, it is important to know your niche first.. then start from there. You just want to get traffic from your targeted audience. It's true, social media can give you traffic but be careful with those free traffic...it's only temporary.

    Well, though my answer is late but i am sharing my personal experience with you. To generate traffic to your website use facebook, twitter, Google plus as you mentioned you already have account on these sites, you can join your niche related groups on facebooks add relevant & impressive replies there. Join Google plus communities relevant to your niche and participate in discussions there. Use Stumbleupon and Pinterest believe me these two websites are generating a huge amount of traffic to a website.
  • I think Social Media is a good technique to increase traffic rate in less time. You have to only promote your products and pages to achieve traffic.
  • I agree with the previous comments above. You need to plan your SEO campaign. Start by reading SEO blogs to know and get the latest tips and advice on SEO. I would also suggest you focus on building quality backlinks. Do a lot of content marketing, share your content in social media sites, then build backlinks in high ranking, authority sites.
  • There is no secret recepy for getting traffic, it`s all hard work and research - your question is too general to get an acceptable answer, just be active and work hard, the results will come.
  • There is no easy way in getting traffic especially if you are promoting a business. I am not an expert however if you ask me, in facebook I suggest you ask and send out messages to follow you. You can use like page and fan page so it will not cost u a cent. As for twitter follow and comment on their tweets so they will notice you. Send as many tweets too.

    • Your question is pretty general but when it comes to social media and networking its about building relationships and that takes an investment. I would start with a few networks to use and establish yourself on. Create a Facebook fanpage and a Twitter account -- brand both with images / headers, etc.

      Start posting content, following and engaging people, interacting in the community, etc. Start with small steps.

      You could even explore Facebook Ads or use StumbleUpon Ads if you have some funds and want to put in less time and effort.
